  • #57: Get Your Ass in Gear Now - Why You Shouldn't Wait Until 2025 to 'Do You' Better
    2024/12/09

It's a busy time of year - we all feel that. Lots of events, obligations, year end deadlines, and things we feel we 'should' be doing. What you really need to be doing, though, if you aren't already, is prioritizing yourself and taking care of your own needs now, instead of waiting until the New Year. It's so easy to say 'when the holidays are over I'll...." or 'in the New Year I'll start....' The truth is though, if you wait and be that 'New Year New Me' person, it's not going to stick. Listen to this episode if taking care of yourself has fallen to the very bottom if the list this time of year, or send it to a friend who keeps complaining about their body image or stress level and isn't doing anything about it!

We will have 3 different types of episodes and one will drop each week on Mondays!

  • #56: BirthLab - Why Your Hospital's Prep Class Isn't Enough to Prepare You to Give Birth
    2024/12/02

The next BirthLab Class is happening at Vivid Women's Health THIS Saturday, 12/7 at 9:30am! In-person spots are full, but you can still join via live stream. This class won't run again until the Spring, so be sure to sign up if you are due before then!

Your local hospital class is great, and helpful for learning about policies and procedures, where to go, what type of monitoring and pain interventions are available, etc. What the class doesn't cover, however, is exactly how to improve your chances of an easier recovery by teaching you how to prepare your pelvic floor for birth, how to effectively push, and how to minimize the chances of tearing. It also covers early postpartum recovery! BirthLab is for both you and your partner, and is the best option in the Newtown/Yardley area for this type of class!

**Register for the Live Stream of BirthLab on 12/7/24 HERE**

We will have 3 different types of episodes and one will drop each week on Mondays!

  • #55: Postpartum Rehab - Why No Mom Can Afford to Skip Putting in the Work to Properly Recover from Birth
    2024/11/25

We get asked all the time... "Do I really have to do this?" Meaning taking the time for intentional rehab postpartum, before returning to 'regular' exercise. No matter who you are, what you did or didn't do during pregnancy, and how much you know about what happened to your body during birth, no mom is exempt from the need to rebuild a solid foundation before returning to whatever you used to do.

It can be frustrating when you are not feeling like yourself and just want some normalcy, but progressing too quickly in an effort to "bounce back' will likely bite you in the ass long term. If you are an expecting mom, new mom, or have a friend that is running past your house at 4 weeks postpartum, this episode is a must listen!

If you are local and need help - schedule/request a PT Eval at Vivid HERE, or get on the waitlist for the January session of Diapers to Dumbbells HERE!

We will have 3 different types of episodes and one will drop each week on Mondays!

  • #52: Why Surgery is NOT the Final Solution for your Problems & Pain
    2024/11/04

No matter if you are facing a pelvic floor repair, an orthopedic surgery, or some type of elective cosmetic surgery, the surgery itself is not going to solve all your problems. Sorry to break it to you! Of course it seems like it will, but surgery simply fixes the glaring pain point and doesn't uncover the cause behind the need for that surgery in the first place. In this episode, we try to educate and empower any mom who has had a surgical procedure or is facing one in the future to ask the right questions, seek out the proper support, and do all the things to make sure recovery is as smooth as possible and future issues can be avoided.
