  • Ep 30: Natasha Nyeke, Therapist, Coach & Host of The Imperfect Mum Podcast comes onto the podcast to share her journey with Motherhood, sharing her knowledge on breaking generational cycles
    2025/03/07

Natasha Nyeke is a therapist, coach, and host of The Imperfect Mum Podcast, where she helps mums break generational cycles and become the mum they needed. With a background as a family worker, Natasha saw firsthand how pivotal a mother’s well-being is to a child’s development. This led her to dedicate her career to supporting mums in healing their own wounds, developing self-awareness, and breaking free from perfectionism—so they can parent with confidence, rather than fear.

Her work is rooted in growth mindset, self-compassion, and breaking cycles—because motherhood isn’t about getting it perfect, it’s about learning. Natasha believes we either win or we learn, and she teaches mums how to shift from guilt and self-doubt to self-trust and resilience.

Natasha’s mission? To make it normal for mums to prioritize their own growth, to trust themselves as parents, and to break the cycles that no longer serve them—without guilt.

    Key conversation points:

    - How Natasha got into this line of work

    - We discuss anxiety in Motherhood and the impact that can have on our children's nervous systems

    - The block she often comes across in Mother's around resting, and struggling to make it a priority due to generational cycles where rest was not modelled to us by our parents.

    - How a habit can feel like another thing to do, and how to avoid this and not making it a chore

    - Natasha shares her ADHD brain and how she navigates work and life with a brain that can feel busy.

    - How to learn the skill of inner calm, with Natasha's " will it bother me in 5 yrs" question

    - Her love of law of attraction and how it totally changed her mindset from catastrophizing to manifesting.

    - Natasha share how she wasn't a confident child and never shared her feelings and she felt she was a burden if she did.

    - We discussed how having an anxious mind and catastrophizing can almost become your identity.

    - How to stop using our imagination to worry and instead use it to dream

    - How Natasha's rejection sensitivity nearly stopped her dating, but working through it led her to her husband.

    2024/12/13

Charlotte, a Holistic Transformation Coach bravely shares her story from addiction to crystal meth to becoming drug free with no rehab, and just a determination to live a better life and to connect to who she truly was.

This is SUCH a powerful story and so much vulnerability, as well as looking at our childhood homes, the dynamics with our parents and how that can massively impact our self-worth, self-esteem and lead us into unhealthy patterns that do not serve us.

    Key highlights of the conversation:

    - Charlotte ending an engagement and walking away from a long-term relationship and bouncing straight into a toxic relationship with an addict.

    - The rapid spiral into self-sabotage and drugs when we feel lost and repress feeling our feelings.

    - The dramatic shift from being a woman who thought drugs were dirty and never touched them, to being a crystal meth addict, becoming homeless and living in a crack den.

    - We dig into her family history looking at generational trauma, and how traumas in our parent’s lives can have a knock-on effect into our patterns in relationships and love.

    - How child version of Charlotte was confident until age 8 when there were issues at home, and she kept getting her intuition of their being problems with her parents invalidated by them, which shook her sense of self and left her feeling ungrounded. This led into a pattern of craving love and connection and being in back to back relationships from 15 to gain validation.

    - How a conversation with a friend when he pointed out that she was a pushover, made her realise she’d been a people pleaser for life and start setting healthy boundaries and saying no more, and working out what she truly wanted.

It is an episode not to be missed!
