Reese went in for a brain surgery, aiming to reduce the quantity and intensity of her seizures, however after having a stroke on the operating table, she woke up having been paralysed on her left side. Reese was told she would never be able to walk again, unaided. However she discusses with Dean how, through sheer determination and an understanding of the science behind neuroplasticity, she was able to get back to 99% of fully-able movement.
