    What does it mean when your time as a military leader shaped to command forces as a career ends and brings you to the social media landscape to become an advocate for these communities?

    In this episode , I am joined my not only a fellow service member but one of the role models that had shaped my military career so far. After growing up in Fayetteville Georgia in the 80s, being given the opportunity to study at a prestigious school in the Atlanta region he recounts his time in the Naval Academy, and his 20+ year career as a naval officer. Retiring as a commander, he co-hosts one of these independent podcast with another fellow service member, disecting the roles, leadership decisions ,and opinions going on not just in the US but also with international events.

    We explore his points of view on the immigration raids, his thoughts on the current state of the nation and an unfiltered and muche required analysis of what it means to not only be a black man, but a minority, fighter and the endevours he has experienced while also speaking out during these trying times as journalist... en mi comunidad

  • The ESL Sessions Presents: Enigma "Jacqueline Burns - Acceptance"

    On this speical Pride month episode, I am joined by a fellow service member. Growing up in South Carolina, and raised southern baptist we talk about identity and tackeling with accepting yourself, being accepted by your family and how it affects all members of the LGBTQ+ community.


    After military service, a marriage and subsepquent divorce she recounts her experience of serving during the repeal of dont ask dont tell and acceptence of Trans Service members, and gives insight on her experience so far after coming out as trans in 2020. We explore her perspective with current changes in 2025 and answer what it means to be privlaged and use that as a way to speak out in support of other communities. As we also learn about other aspect of her life as a voice actress in a audio drama, and here personal project to provide a safe space online with hope to expand its members and bring more inclusion.

Concluding this mini series on teachers appreciation week for 2025 I am Joined by Micah Belliou CEO of Fluency corp. We explor her story growing up in Oklahoma, and navivating the education system before the year 2000. Aftwr aving graduted from the University Boston in Massachusetts she guides us in her journey to move abord to mexico and begin teaching Spanish fully imersing herself in the culture and life and overcoming the challanges that come with the languages and communication. Eventually returning to the US and seeing an opportunity to expand on her love of languages, she embarks on the first step in creating Fluency corp, bringin accessible and effective language learning skills to business clients at an enterpise level and further expanding to child education and personal use.

In this mini series on teachers appreciation week for 2025 I am joined by my first ESL teacher and one of the educators that inspired me to create this podcast. Born at the end of WW2, growing up in California and Arizona join us as we go through his life being raised in fallon nevada, by a teacher and Sign maker. We explore his life as the only white student in a all black school in north vegas in the 50s, university of Nevada reno in the 60s and his 2 years voluntary service in vietnam. We touch on his late entrance into education and his views on the changes that affected not only me as his student but all of his students life throug the often difficult assimilation via ESL.

In this mini series on teachers appreciation week for 2025 I am joined by one of my own teachers and one of the educators that inspired me to create this podcast. From her early life as a teacher in Colombia to becoming an educator in the United States. We explore her experiences as a Fulbright scholar in the early 90s and how she came to be a professor at the University of Nevada Reno, Fernley Nevada and ultimately ,Hugg highschool in Reno. We remanic on Spanish club, her experiences with her students, the challenges of being an educator for ESL and Spanish lacking resources, and the administration battles she fought for her students. As well as her guidance and mentoring she provided to many of my fellow classmates and international students.

We explore here experience as an educator in the changing field of special needs. Focusing more on her job, she gives us some insight on challenges, and advancement in her field of specialty. What inspired her to become a special needs teacher and her role in in such an involved field of teaching profession. Along with learning a little more about her life outside of the class room we delv into her impact on her students, her, thoughts on the education system in the current administration and the importance of unity with other professionals in the educational field.

In this mini series on teachers appreciation week for 2025 I am joined by a fellow Service member, now an educator in the state of Illinois. After 4 years of military service and becoming a public servant he was able to accomplish his goal of becoming a teacher in 2020. Now having taught for 4 years we explore his experience in seeing his first class graduate, his challenges along the way in becoming educator. Facing some Adversity and life changing decisions during his early adult years we discuss his deciaon to join the military, the course changing interaction with a military educators along with his professional and personal achievments as a teacher juggleing life and a career that requires alot of involment.
