  • 5 DIY SEO Tips for Your Small Business
    2024/12/21

Welcome to this weeks’ episode of The Australian Small Business Show!

In today’s episode we are following on from our discussion last week with Ryan Griffin from Chunky Duck.

Today we are sharing 5 simple SEO strategies for small businesses who want to do a little DIY SEO over the Christmas period.

    Our 5 strategies are:

    1. Keyword Research – Find What Your Customers are Searching For

Keyword research is the foundation of any successful SEO strategy. It helps you understand what terms your potential customers are using to search for your products or services.

Tip: Look at competitor websites to identify keywords they’re ranking for.

2 Optimize Website Titles and Meta Descriptions

Titles and meta descriptions are the first things people see on search engine results pages (SERPs). Well-optimized titles and descriptions can significantly improve your click-through rate (CTR).

Tip: Keep your titles and meta descriptions focused on the user’s intent – what do they want to know or solve by clicking on your link?

    3. Create High-Quality, Engaging Content

Google values content that is helpful, informative, and answers user queries. Creating high-quality content is one of the best ways to improve your SEO ranking and engage your audience.

Tip: Include relevant keywords in your blog titles, headings, and within the content naturally, but avoid keyword stuffing.

    4. Improve Your Website’s Mobile Experience

With more people using smartphones to browse, Google considers mobile-friendliness a key ranking factor. A website that is mobile-friendly provides a better user experience and boosts SEO.

Tip: If your site is slow on mobile, consider optimizing images and removing unnecessary plugins that may be slowing it down.

5 Encourage and Manage Customer Reviews

Online reviews are a powerful ranking factor, especially for local SEO. Positive reviews not only improve your reputation but also influence search engine rankings.

Tip: Use reviews to identify common customer pain points or satisfaction factors, and improve your products or services based on feedback.

Welcome to this weeks’ episode of The Australian Small Business Show!

In today’s episode we are joined by special guest Ryan Griffin from Chunky Duck.

Like many of us entrepreneurs, Ryan’s journey to his current business has not been a straight line. Initially a professional baseball player, he returned to Australia ready to start his career in digital marketing. He worked for many years in a marketing agency before turning to scuba diving and juggling freelancing. As Covid hit he went all in on his own digital agency–now known as ChunkyDuck.

In today’s discussion Ryan helps us understand what SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) is, and why it’s important for every business. We also discuss the impacts AI is having on search, SEO and organic reach.

  • Increasing Your Prices
    2024/12/07

Welcome to this weeks’ episode of The Australian Small Business Show!

In today’s timely episode, we take a quick dive into how to confidently deliver a price increase

    to your customers.

Increasing prices can be a delicate process, but with the right approach, businesses can do it

confidently without losing customers. Here are some strategies to consider:

    • Communicate Clearly and Transparently: Explain the reasons behind the price increase to your customers. Whether it's due to rising costs, improved quality, or added features, transparency helps customers understand and accept the change.
    • Highlight Added Value: Emphasize any improvements or additional benefits that come with the price increase. This could include better materials, enhanced services, or new features that justify the higher cost.
    • Implement Gradually: Instead of a sudden hike, consider a phased approach. Gradual increases can be less shocking to customers and give them time to adjust.
    • Offer Alternatives: Provide different pricing tiers or packages. This way, customers can choose an option that fits their budget while still experiencing the value of your offerings.
    • Reward Loyalty: Show appreciation to your loyal customers by offering them exclusive deals or discounts. This can help maintain their trust and loyalty even with the price increase.
    • Train Your Team: Ensure your sales and customer service teams are well-prepared to handle questions and objections. Equip them with the right information to explain the value and reasons for the price increase confidently.
    • Monitor Feedback: After implementing the price increase, closely monitor customer feedback and sales data. This will help you understand the impactt and make any necessary adjustments.

By following these strategies, businesses can increase their prices confidently while maintaining customer satisfaction and loyalty.
