  • Events | Is the Sky Falling? Reconsidering the Endangerment Finding
    2025/06/06

In 2009, the Environmental Protection Agency’s Endangerment Finding labeled greenhouse gas emissions a threat to public health and welfare. Now, with mounting empirical evidence, improved climate models, and real-world observations, the EPA is reconsidering that determination. New data reveals a more nuanced climate reality than in 2009.
Climate policy continues to carry enormous economic and legal implications, and reconsidering the Endangerment Finding is both justified and necessary.

  • Events | The Lee Edwards Lecture in Conservative Leadership
    2025/06/06

The Heritage Foundation’s B. Kenneth Simon Center for American Studies, National Review Institute, and Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation are pleased to announce that Dr. Elizabeth Edwards Spalding will deliver the second annual Lee Edwards Lecture in Conservative Leadership.
In addition to being the daughter of Lee Edwards, Dr. Spalding is the Chairman of the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation and Founding Director of the Victims of Communism Museum. She is a Senior Fellow at the Pepperdine University School of Public Policy and a Visiting Fellow at the Van Andel Graduate School of Government at Hillsdale College. Dr. Spalding is also the author of The First Cold Warrior: Harry Truman, Containment, and the Remaking of Liberal Internationalism and the co-author of A Brief History of the Cold War.
The Heritage Foundation established the annual Lee Edwards Lecture in recognition of Dr. Edwards’s long service as a Distinguished Fellow in Conservative Thought at The Heritage Foundation, during which he wrote most of his 25 books about the leading individuals and institutions of the modern conservative movement. In addition to biographies of President Ronald Reagan, Barry Goldwater, William F. Buckley Jr. and Edwin Meese III, Dr. Edwards wrote histories of The Heritage Foundation, the Intercollegiate Studies Institute, and the conservative movement. His books have been translated into Chinese, Japanese, Swedish, and Polish. He taught politics at the Catholic University of America for more than 30 years and was named a Distinguished Lecturer by the University. Dr. Edwards was also a co-founder of the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation.
We are pleased that this year’s lecture coincides with recognition of William F. Buckley Jr.’s Centennial and is part of a series of programs to honor his legacy hosted by National Review Institute.

  • The Power Hour | A Better Way to Achieve Electric Grid Reliability with Glen Lyons
    2025/05/09

The Power Hour is a weekly podcast that discusses the most interesting energy and environmental policy issues of the day with top national experts. Jack is joined this week by Glen Lyons, one of the nation’s leading and most innovative thinkers on electricity markets. Glen has worked in the gas and oil industry and served as a member of ERCOT, the body that regulates Texas’ electricity grid and is now the founder and Chief Advocate for Advocates for Consumer Regulated Electricity. This conversation is not only interesting but very timely and important as states around the nation are trying to figure out how to ensure that we are producing enough power to ensure that families and businesses have enough power to meet ever growing demand. Unlike the usual proposals to regulate and subsidize more, Glen has developed an approach that puts energy users in charge.

And don’t forget to check out Jack’s book, Nuclear Revolution and for an outstanding overview of how nuclear energy works, check out our documentary Powering America. Join the conversation at thepowerhour@heritage.org! Thank you for listening and please don’t forget to subscribe and help us to spread the word.
