"The opposite of war isn't peace; it's creation."
Thanks for joining me for season 2 of my podcast, Come Over to My House! You can find season one on audio streaming platforms everywhere! In the first season of this show, I focused on both the systemic and interpersonal implications of trauma on many levels--psychological, anthropological, sociological, and even spiritual!
But this season, I want to focus on the act of creation, how it combats societal rot and destruction through healing, and how differently creation can look from person to person.
My first guest, Lauryn, is a powerhouse of compassion, knowledge, creativity, talent, and wisdom that she draws from so many different experiences of life. She has come so far in healing and deconstructing from many traumas, including escaping a high control religion/cult, overcoming the many emotional implications of intimate partner abuse, and so much more!

A NOTE FROM THE HOST:
As a child human trafficking survivor, I very clearly understand that many “anti-trafficking” organizations are actually used to further the plight of those benefiting from selling children, and I try to elevate and support actual anti-trafficking efforts as I find them in the world.
The Baby WhispHerer Movement is a boots-on-the-ground organization that does the work of going in and removing kids from trafficking situations. But the work doesn’t stop there. This organization also provides resources of after care for the children and for the families.
This holiday season, the organization is trying to raise money to provide a feast (that happens to fall on Thanksgiving) to several families who have been affected by these atrocious crimes this year. But they rely on donations to make these things happen. I’ll link the movement’s information below. Please consider donating and sharing, if you’re able.
–Sincerely, a fellow trafficking survivor who understands how valuable these resources are.
