Emanuele, questo il nome del bambino, si nasconde su un tram e inizia un viaggio che lo porterà, fermata dopo fermata, fino al capolinea. L'autista del tram e poi altri dopo di lui aiuteranno Emanuele a restare vivo e al sicuro per tre giorni fino a quando non riuscirà a trovare suo padre.

Jerry Pinkney drew everywhere, all the time.
