  • EP 249 Anne & Kelli catch you up on their time apart working on different cruises, birthday celebrations & so much more!
    2025/07/25

Join Anne & Kelli for their 249th NEW episode of #ilovemywife podcast

They start the show off talking about spending 16 days apart traveling on different work cruises and how it felt to be apart for so long and how they try to never take for granted that they get to work together and travel together most of the time.

First, they talk about Anne’s massive travel issues while flying from JFK to Malta via Amsterdam on Delta. Those issues included major flight delays, lots of crying in Immigration in Amsterdam, lost baggage in Malta, more crying, shopping for new clothes and luggage and so much more. After all of that drama, Anne had an incredible cruise performing with Source Journeys, a gay charter travel company, on Atlas Ocean Voyages. They sailed from Malta to Tunisia and continued up the Italian Coast via Palermo, Amalfi and ended in Naples. She had amazing dinners, fun dance parties including sailing past an actively erupting volcano and a private boat day in Amalfi with her bestie Will for her birthday! The trip ended up being a big success despite all of the crazy drama.

Next, they talk about Kelli’s time on her own that started with taking Anne’s Mom out for her birthday to a drag show in NYC with their kids and how much crazy fun it was. Next Kelli did a site visit on the new Margaritaville Cruise roundtrip from Tampa. She enjoyed the experience that included things like the steakhouse, a fabulous tour of the bridge and the Jimmy Buffett speakeasy experience. Overall, she discovered that there are lots of ways to travel and that there are experiences for everyone no matter your price point or your choice of experiences. Kelli then headed off for her R Family trip hosting a group of families on the NCL Aqua, a brand-new ship sailing out of Port Canaveral to the Caribbean. It is a beautiful new ship and she was so happy to welcome lots of returning families and lots of NEW families. They did so many activities together including family karaoke, a day excursion at a beach club, bingo, a family dance, a game show, group dinners every night and late-night adult dance parties. Overall, it was another wonderful experience with new and old friends & families. They also look forward to the 2026 family trips including a group on a Disney cruise in on July 18th and a group on The Quantum of the Seas out of LA the end of July.

They wrap up this segment talking about Anne’s jetlag and headaches, Anne’s birthday celebration with the kids, her mom and some friends, Kelli finally getting home and feeling happy about cooking in, shopping for groceries and taking her mom to brunch, going to the NYC for a work lunch & seeing Vivi’s new apartment and going to dinner and then getting ready to pack again to leave for Stockholm for another trip.

They next do their new segment called Travel Hacks. Every episode they will each give one of their favorite travel hacks. This week Kelli talks about buying food related gifts at a grocery store vs at a tourist shop when traveling and Anne talks about annual travel insurance and the importance of that when things go wrong during travel.

They chat about shows they binged and as watching currently. On Netflix: The Waterfront, The Survivors, Amy Bradley Is Missing, Trainwreck Poop Cruise, and Building the Band. On Hulu: The Bear (Season 4) and Nine Perfect Strangers (Season 2) HBO Max: And Just Like That (thumbs down) & The Gilded Age (SOOOOO EXCITED to watch on the plane to Stockholm)

Lastly, they answer a listener question. From Chris on IG: “Have you ever had a bad client interaction when you travel? You always tell the best stories of your adventures… but have you ever had a negative experience with a guest?”
