An illustrated guide and journal for cancer patients

In the early fall of 2017, Eva was diagnosed with stage IV Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. In the wake of this experience, as an opportunity for healing for herself and others, she created an illustrated guide and journal that offers practical guidance and shares paintings and drawings that add color and beauty to what can be a sterile and frightening experience. There is a section addressed to caregivers as well, a blank ruler-lined section for journaling and note-taking, in addition to a pocket and calendar at the back.

This project was generously kick-started by the Artist Residency at the Harmony Hotel in the summer of 2019 in Costa Rica and continues to be supported by benefactors who believe in providing patients and caregivers with art and guidance during their journey navigating cancer. All proceeds from book sales go back into supporting the project by funding reprints for donation as well as initiatives like translating and printing a Spanish version of the book.
