    It’s never too late to make a change–especially if that means finally asking for help after “handling it yourself” for far too long. Does this sound familiar? High-functioning people often put off asking for what we need because we think our problems aren't “bad enough” yet, or we worry that we’re just being dramatic. But what if we flip the script? What if instead of waiting until things are unbearable, we sought help at the first sign of struggle?

    Last week, I began sharing my five biggest takeaways from owning and operating Melissa Parsons Coaching and loving my career as a general life coach for women. The first three lessons I talked about were the power of telling the truth, staying in the present moment, and uncovering our limiting subconscious beliefs about ourselves.

    In this episode, I’m back with two more lessons: the power of treating yourself with self-compassion and creating your own life on purpose. After five years of coaching incredible women, one of the most profound transformations I've witnessed is when a client shifts from living reactively to creating her life intentionally. This journey from unconscious reaction to conscious creation ties all the other lessons together.

    The ultimate gift of coaching is the recognition that we're all constantly evolving in our capacity to live consciously. The journey isn't about reaching perfection, but about embracing the ever-expanding possibilities that emerge when we choose to live as our favorite versions of ourselves.

  • Ep 139: Lessons from 5 Years of Melissa Parsons Coaching - Part 1

    Today, my business–Melissa Parsons Coaching– turns five years old. I want to congratulate myself on continuing to have a strong business five years in, and I want to thank all of you: my listeners, my clients, my fans, and my followers. I know for sure that I would not be here without all of you.

    I became a coach after receiving coaching myself because I was convinced–and still am–that coaching is the secret to the universe and I should share it with as many people as possible in my lifetime. I saw how it helped me go from simply surviving to truly thriving, and I wanted every human to have that same experience.

    Since then, I have learned so much. I’ve learned about how the body and the brain work together to keep us safe, how society at large creates our beliefs and our experiences, and the importance of staying present —both in my own life and with my clients–in order to help them make deep and lasting changes.

    In this episode, I’m sharing my journey from being coached to becoming one myself, along with the most powerful lessons I’ve learned from working with so many incredible women over the past five years.
