  • Winesplained - Episode #7 - Guest Keenan O’Hern
    2022/06/13

Keenan O’Hern and his business partner Austin Ziegler are on a mission to build a refillable bottle for the Oregon wine industry and create a circular ecosystem for reusable bottles. Revino will reuse existing wine bottles as well as manufacture their own Revino bottle, then collect, wash, inspect and make the bottles available to wineries to use again and again (up to 25 times!) They’re not quite launched, but Keenan has all the facts, statistics and a very clear plan - they expect to be up and running in 2023. We’re excited to see an option for more Oregon wineries to adopt more sustainable packaging!

  • Winesplained - Episode #4 - Guest Jess Pierce about Packaging
    2022/04/18

Season 1 Ep 4 - Sustainable Wine Packaging with Jess Pierce, Pierce Wines

Jess Pierce has worn many hats around Portland and in the Willamette Valley food and wine industry: from serving tables and teaching Wine Geography at Linfield College to selling wine for Walter Scott and now making her very own Pierce Riesling.

When Jess started Pierce Wines she was inspired by Coopers Hall to use an Oregon-made 500 mL reusable, refillable bottles. She was attracted by the sustainability factor and the atypical format. Joel, Adam and Jess chat about putting wine in beer bottles, energy and waste in wine and evangelizing the use of more sustainable packaging options.
