  • But – The (not so) Subtle Saboteur
    2025/07/26

“But” seems harmless, but often erases everything that came before it. It can create conflict, defensiveness, and internal misalignment—especially when your mind overrides your authority in Human Design.

💬 “I love you… but I need space” → suddenly it doesn’t feel like love.
💬 “I want to rest… but I should keep going” → the mind is winning over the body’s wisdom.

🧠 HD Angle: Mind vs. inner authority—especially for Generators/MGs ignoring sacral truth.

    Language Shift:

    • Use "and" to hold dual truths: “I love you and I need space.”

    • Use "yet" to keep growth open: “I’m not there… yet.”

🧵 Subtle swap, powerful shift. Let both be true.

  • #9 Single Mother vs Solo Parent, either way you're rarely alone
    2025/07/23

Solo Yet Not Alone – Single Mother vs Solo Parent

In this episode of Types and Ties, we explore the subtle yet powerful difference between the terms single mother and solo parent—and why the words we use to describe our parenting journey matter.

    We unpack:

    • The social weight and stigma often attached to “single mother”

    • Why “solo parent” may feel more empowering or accurate for some

    • Reasons women (and men) choose to parent without a partner—from timing, trauma, and autonomy to deep soul callings

    • How shifting language can shift perception, pride, and self-definition

Whether you chose this path or found yourself on it unexpectedly, this episode is a love letter to every parent showing up with their whole heart.

Because parenting solo doesn’t mean you’re less than—just that you’re leading with everything you’ve got.

  • Fine - the conversation killer
    2025/07/19

How often do we say we’re fine… when we’re really not?
Fine is the word we use to close the door on deeper conversations—but sometimes, it’s also the word that invites one.
This week on Types and Ties, I’m lifting the lid on the word fine—what it hides, what it protects, and how we can gently open it up.

  • #8 Financial provision vs feeling provided for
    2025/07/16

This episode explores the difference between financial provision and emotional nourishment in a marriage. Lauren shares how her ex-husband, though a good financial provider, was rarely emotionally present—leaving her lonelier in marriage than in solo travel. She unpacks how traditional gender roles didn’t fit her truth, the toll of emotional neglect, and the decision to become a single mother as an act of self-reclamation, rather than sacrifice.

  • Busy -the badge of burnout
    2025/07/12

Busy – The Badge of Burnout

Busy isn’t a badge of honour—it’s often a red flag. In this episode, we unpack how the word busy is used to prove worth, avoid presence, or fill space with false urgency.

    🔹 Theme: Productivity ≠ value
    🔹 HD Angle:

    • Generators & MGs: Saying yes without sacral response = burnout

    • Non-sacral types: Absorbing hustle energy = exhaustion

Language Lift: Ditch “I’m busy” for truthful, aligned phrases like:

    • “I’m focused on what matters right now”

    • “I’m honouring space in my schedule”

    • “That’s not a fit for me at the moment”

🧵 Reminder: You’re not here to keep up—you’re here to light up.
    Busy? Not your buzzword.

  • #7 Reflectors: The human barometers
    2025/07/09

🪞 Reflector – The Human Barometer
Reflectors are the rarest Human Design type, making up just 1% of the population. With all nine centers open, they reflect the health of their environment and those around them — just like a barometer. Their strategy is to wait a full lunar cycle (28 days) before making major decisions, allowing clarity to emerge over time through the shifting moon and planetary transits.

They're sensitive, wise, and deeply attuned to the energy around them. The right people and places are everything.

    Empowered Reflectors:
    🌙 Track the moon.
    🪷 Spend time alone.
    🏡 Choose aligned environments.
    📔 Journal your cycles.
    🌐 Embrace variety.
    ⏳ Don’t rush decisions.

    Reflect on this:

    • Where do you feel most clear and alive?

    • What shifts when you give yourself time?

    • Who supports your clarity, and who does not?

  • Try - the 3 letter permission slip to stay stuck...
    2025/07/05

In this bite-sized episode of Types and Ties, we're unpacking the word "try"—a word that seems harmless, even humble, but often hides hesitation, fear, or avoidance behind a mask of effort.

You’ll hear why “trying” can keep us stuck, how it shows up differently across Human Design types (especially for Projectors and Reflectors), and how to shift from indecision to aligned action. This one’s for anyone who’s ever said “I’ll try…” and felt the energy fall flat.

HD spotlight: Projectors and Reflectors navigating energy in a Generator world.

    Magic Quote:

“You don’t have to try to be more you. You already are. Be bold enough to do, or gentle enough to not. Try is optional.”

Tag @typesandties with your biggest “aha” or where you’ve been stuck in try-mode.

Let’s rewrite the words we live by—one empowered decision at a time.

  • #6 Mani-Gen Mania
    2025/07/02

    Manifesting Generator in Human Design

    • Aura: Magnetic, fast-moving, open but selective.

    • Strategy: Respond first, then inform before acting.

    • Self Theme: Satisfaction & Peace

    • Not-Self Theme: Frustration & Anger

    Why MGs get stuck:
Skipping steps, initiating without response, not informing = resistance, burnout, confusion.

To shift from frustration & anger to satisfaction & peace:
    → Wait to respond
    → Inform others
→ Let yourself pivot or quit without guilt

    Empowered MG Tips:

    1. Trust your sacral “uh-huh”

    2. Inform before you act

    3. Ditch the straight path — you're not linear

    4. Follow joy, not “shoulds”

    5. Check in with your energy often

    6. Quitting = wisdom, not failure

MGs: You’re here to move fast with flow, not against it.
