The Wedding Singer Podcast

  • Tribute bands have long been a source of ridicule, in part for their lighthearted pun names such as Hi-On Maiden and Wrong Jovi, and for their outlandish costumes and wigs, but have perceptions changed?

I’m Nathan J Wilkinson and this is The Wedding Singer podcast. I’ve played in bands for over 25 years, chasing record deals and seeking fame and fortune as a guitar slinger but after turning 40 I’ve decided it’s finally time to give up the dream and start a tribute band.

As I embark on my new journey I want to meet some of the best tribute acts around and delve deep to find out what it’s like, why they do it, whether they’re worried about the stigma, and of course whether they’re wearing a wig or if it’s their own hair.

I’ll also be joined by my good friend Omar who was a barman at The Limelight in Crewe during its heyday as one of the most popular music venues in the country for tribute acts.

The first season is coming soon so make sure you follow or subscribe to The Wedding Singer wherever you get your podcasts.
