  • From Washington: One Big Beautiful Bill
    2025/04/06
While Republicans in both the House and Senate seem to back President Trump's agenda, getting it passed through Congress remains challenging. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) is seeking support as the GOP aims to pass the "One Big Beautiful Bill," which includes the president's top priorities, such as national defense at the border and spending cuts. FOX News Senior Congressional Correspondent Chad Pergram discusses the urgency of passing this bill, the special elections this past week in Florida, and Senator Cory Booker's (D-NJ) marathon 25-hour speech, the longest in Senate history. Last November, Republicans flipped four senate seats, reclaiming control of the chamber. Among those victories is Pennsylvania Senator Dave McCormick, who defeated four-term incumbent Bob Casey (D-PA). His new book, co-authored by his wife Dina Powell-McCormick, Who Believed in You: How Purposeful Mentorship Changes the World, discusses the importance of mentorship in one's life. Senator McCormick joins to discuss featured stories in the book and what compelled him to write it. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

  • From Washington: The White House Is Standing By Its Tariff Strategy
    2025/04/05
Stocks tumbled after President Donald Trump unveiled his plan to impose tariffs on nearly all of America’s trading partners. The White House says market losses were expected, but believes its strategy will pay off in the long term. However, some Republicans, like Texas Senator Ted Cruz, fear that the policy could be "terrible for Americans." The White House confirmed that President Trump's first foreign trip of his second term will be to Saudi Arabia next month. The visit comes shortly after Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman hosted U.S., Russian and Ukrainian delegations for ceasefire talks -- a move that signified Saudi Arabia's move toward becoming a more significant U.S. partner. Now, as President Trump claims the country is committed to investing a trillion dollars in America, former NSC Senior Director to President George W.
