Aloha Crafty Mavens!! I have Another Episode in the Creative Identity Series on The Crafty Maven Getaway Podcast!! We are almost done with our series and I want to start going into more practical information and tips for settling into your creative identity. Listed below are some questions and tips to keep in mind when you come into your craftroom/craftspace/crafttable! 1. Be Proud of your Identity as a creator!! 2. KNow your reason why and embrace it! And do what feels fun, good and you! 3. Give yourself permission to play 4. Growth is a by product of living out your creative identity! 5. when was the last time you made something fun? 6.What Keeps me from playing freely with my supplies? 7. What does creative freedom look like for you? 8. Why does creative freedom matter in our long term north? 9. Growth doesn't have to look a certain way. Creative Freedom and Living out your Creative Identity is what guides your growth. 10. Play doesn't have to mean Choas! 11. Play within your comfort zone, play in ways that make you happy! 12. Stretch your go to techniques, and style in fun fresh ways. You don't have to go big all the time, it's the small simple steps that make the most differnce in your creative journey. 13. What Do I love using again and again? 14. How can I stretch those things in a new way without starting over? 15. How do I brainstorm to pivot from projects, techniques, styles I don't enjoy? 16. HOw am I giving myself grace? 17. What feels fun and still me? 18. How can I reframe my thinking, my creative identity and journey is about discovery and not perfection. 19. How do I let the process be the product? 20. what are the small risks I can take that might open new doors of creativity? I also mention some ways to challenge yourself in your craftroom 1. using moodboards or photos/experiences as inspiration 2. stash kits/leftover kits 3. new techniques/old techniques in a new way 4. scraplifting yourself/others/ using someones else art as a starting off point 5. doing a new style of papercrafting/trying a style differently 6. focusing on elements for your projects instead of the whole project Remember to use inspiration as a place to add your own identity and style to!!
