    NOT Medical advice. What's the difference between Ramsay Hunt Syndrome and Bell’s Palsy? Bell's Palsy typically only affects the 7th cranial nerve. Ramsay Hunt Syndrome can impact several other cranial nerves, such as the 7th (like Bells Palsy) and the 5th, 8th, 9th, and 10th cranial nerves. Ramsay Hunt Syndrome can impact vision, eye closure, ear (along with balance), vertigo, hearing, and taste, for example.Everyone does not get a rash with Ramsay Hunt syndrome and there is an overlap of similar symptoms due to Ramsay Hunt impacting the same nerve that Bell’s Palsy does.
