  • 129: Women in Bitcoin for a Future Perfect. From Gold to Crypto. Eve Eurydice with Jalak Jobanputra.
    2024/11/09

Eve Eurydice speaks with Jalak Jobanputra, an

early fintech investor in the blockchain space (2013), long before its institutional adoption. Jalak started Future Perfect Ventures in 2014 to invest in decentralized technologies with a focus on crypto assets. She grew up in Nairobi, Kenya to parents of Indian descent and has been a venture capitalist in internet ventures since graduating from Wharton. She was awarded Institutional Investor’s Most Powerful Fintech Dealmakers, was cited as a Top 5 Investor Powering the Blockchain Boom and was awarded Microsoft’s VC Trailblazer Award. She has spoken at conferences and diverse news media including the Milken Global Conference, The Economist Buttonwood Gathering, SALT, Bloomberg, MIT, SXSW, CNBC, and Yahoo Finance.

The two women discuss cryptocurrency, digital assets (including NFTs), a central bank digital coin, blockchain Infrastructure that enables our Healthcare or Education Data to be mined safely & universally on Web3. Unlike fiat currencies that can become illegal tender by law or devalued by FED monetary policy and are used to manage national security via international sanctions, cryptocurrencies are borderless and decentralized. Use computers instead of printers, trust the blockchain.

A very small % of the world population is crypto-literate; unfamiliar with crypto wallets the way people were unfamiliar with email a few decades ago, billions of people await to be informed.

  • 126: What Women Really Think. Online Life in the American Empire. Eurydice Eve & Porochista Khakpour
    2024/09/23

Porochista and Eurydice talk literature, uniparty, America’s reality TV politics, celebrity culture, pop culture, rape culture, Jeffrey Epstein and P. Diddy. They discuss feminism from the 90s to now, Hamptons “white parties” and NYC clubs and Palm Beach society.

Porochista Khakpour is a refugee from Iran , whose family fled the Iran-Iraq War and the Islamic Revolution , and the author of the books Sons and Other Flammable Objects, The Last Illusion, Sick, and Tehrangeles, her satirical, polyphonic, campy third novel, a tragicomic saga about the high-functioning dysfunctional Milani family of Iranian multimillionaires in LA who have a McMansion, a snack food empire, and four young daughters who live a reality TV lifestyle. The book is a critique of the untruth of social media, and the challenge of living an authentic life online.

We discuss America’s generational differences, geopolitical differences, cultural differences. Gen Z is much more sensible & conservative than media understands, having been raised in the broken marriages & narcissistic romances & messy family dynamics of boomers & Gen Xers.

  • 125: Channel The Source. Voice the Monad. Speak Spirit. Eve Eurydice with author medium Paul Selig.
    2024/08/31

Paul Selig is a spiritual channel and clairaudiant medium who is a Yale graduate, an academic, a playwright, a Graduate program director & college professor for 25 years. Paul integrates the

seeming contradictions of intellected cultural mental knowledge & of soulful innate channeled knowing. He’s been Channeling for 30 years in the tradition of Quakerism, Energy healers, Hands on miracle workers, Shamans or Edgar Cayce seers. Paul hears instructions for other people when he steps into other people’s consciousness & also channels “the guides” who call themselves the Monad, the Source, One god (as in “The God Within Me who sees the God Within You.”)

The guides dictate books through him. He hears his guides not through his physical ear but his inner hearing. He calls himself a spiritual radio broadcast. This frees him from the authorial pride and ego driven literary perfectionism or the notion of solitary genius at work. Paul is the author of 12 channeled books, starting with I Am the Word. In 2009 and coming out this month with “A World Made New: A Channeled Text: Book Three of the Manifestation Trilogy.” Paul Selig Records himself in public as he is in rapid transmission and the transcripts are the books.

In this far-ranging conversation, Paul discusses many themes, personal and spiritual.

  • 124: True Crime, Femicide, Justice for Coco & for All. Eurydice Eve w Sarah Gerard.
    2024/08/21

Eurydice Eve speaks with Sarah Gerard, the author of CARRIE CAROLYN COCO as well as Sunshine State, the novella Binary Star, and the novel True Love. The Carolyn Bush true crime story is the modern face of femicide : a young woman doesn’t need to be married or romantically linked to be murdered by her domestic live-in. Before she was brutally stabbed to death by her roommate in 2016, Carolyn Bush was a 25 year old poet and a founding member of the nonprofit reading group Wendy’s Subway in New York City. She believed in astrology & studied at Bard College student, as did her killer, Render Stetson-Shanahan. She was a friend to many, including Sarah who gathered her text messages, emails, blog posts, poems, essays, social media, marginalia and interviewed many of her loved ones recollections of her for this book.

Render Stetson-Shanahan admitted to getting drunk and “smoking weed” with his brother before the incident. He also admitted that Bush was speaking on the phone when he asked her, “Guess what?” before he began stabbing her to death. “It was a horribly disturbing case,” said Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz. “The knife sliced into her back and neck, puncturing her heart, lungs and a major artery.” The murderer, Render Stetson-Shanahan, 29, avoided second degree murder charges in Carolyn Bush’s brutal murder in the Ridgewood apartment they shared, because his defense attorney Zachary Margulis-Ohnuma painted a picture of Stetson-Shanahan as a “kind and gentle” man, who “went crazy” the night he killed Bush because of a “marijuana induced hysteria” or psychotic break. The gruesome story made national headlines because the killer is the son of New Yorker cartoonist Danny Shanahan and of Janet Stetson, the Director of Graduate Admissions at Bard College. Queens prosecutors said Stetson-Shanahan was aware of his actions the night of the stabbing assault but Supreme Court Justice Richard Buchter rendered a verdict of guilty of manslaughter in the second degree. The verdict carries a five to fifteen year sentence which means that Stetson-Shanahan could be let free for time already served with good behavior.
