"I first began my Spiritual journey in the New Thought Movement through Unity faith theology. I became overly fascinated with hearing how much God loves me than being in a Spiritual theology that constantly proclaimed how much I was a sinner. I left the Unity faith in 2017 and began the fantastic journey of Religious Science. Religious Science finally allowed me to realize how amazing our thoughts and intentions are. This led me to become a Spiritual Practitioner and now a Ministerial Intern with the Center for Spiritual Awareness in West Sacramento, CA.

As I finish my ministerial classes and begin working on my own ministry, I hope that my church, “The Illuminating Light for H.O.P.E. Ministries,” will provide just that, giving people the opportunity to have hope again and see hope as a way of life.

I have also written a non-fiction story titled "Pearls of Joy." This fantastic love story was submitted to the Women's World magazine contest and earned the honor of being featured in the March 4, 2013, issue. She has been tenacious in pursuing her personal development and healing; utilizing outward-bound programs, practitioners, therapists, silent retreats, coaches, Landmark Education programs, and shamans. This vision propelled Rev. Ruth to move from Columbia, Maryland to Virginia Beach where she founded Hampton Roads Center for Spiritual Living, a Science of Mind® Community. The Center provided spiritual tools and principles for transforming lives and is now known as Agape East Spiritual Center is led by Rev. Victoria Thomas.

Before relocating to Virginia Beach, VA, Rev. Ruth worked as an independent organizational consultant and executive coach and served in leadership positions in several Fortune 500 companies and educational institutions. Throughout her different relocations, Ruth has found ways to contribute to the various communities. Her educational background includes three master's Degrees: A
