  • Language-Based Riddles - Focus Carefully On The Words
    2021/10/08

This last set consists of language-based riddles - Focus carefully on the words used to form them.

In some states, you cannot take a picture of a man with a wooden leg. Why not? Like previous riddles, focus on how the riddle attempts to deceive you. Instead of wondering why picturing men with wooden legs is banned in some states, think of alternative interpretations.

Lastly, a cowboy rides into town on Friday, stays for just three nights, and then leaves on Friday. How?

  • Stanley Milgram’S Electrical Experiment. It's Shocking!
    2021/10/11

The last way we must struggle to keep an open mind and clarity of thought is in relation to our social influences. The people around us can determine what we think and do, no matter how hard we try. This was proved in the Asch Conformity Test and the Milgram Shock Experiment. It doesn’t matter how open-minded you are, your environment has the ability to push you strongly in one way despite your best intentions.

  • The Gift Of Failing
    2021/10/13

With a growth mindset, we see failure as the gift it is: an opportunity to learn and prove that we are evolving and changing. Fixed mindsets teach us that failures are something to be scared of, and to avoid because they are a damning indictment of us as individuals. We view them as judgments rather than as merely part of the process of learning. However, growth mindsets help us see failures in a positive light because they represent the potential to be better.

We can develop a growth mindset by abandoning grand goals somewhere off in the distance and instead focus on tiny, consistent daily habits that bring us closer and closer to excellence. Having a growth mindset involves valuing the process over the outcome, letting go of outlandish expectations for ourselves, accepting our shortcomings, and prioritizing learning to improve above all else.

  • Dealing With Repeat Boundary Offenders
    2021/10/18

Unfortunately, some people will continue to disrespect your boundaries despite being warned repeatedly. In such cases, you might have to cut contact either temporarily or permanently, even if these are people who you value and love dearly. By refusing to respect your boundaries, they are essentially telling you that your well-being does not matter to them. These are not the kinds of people you need in your life, anyway, and letting them go can often be the easiest and best option.

    2021/10/20
