  • God Has Freed Me and Here’s My Story
    2025/06/06

On this Freedom Friday, we celebrated the freedom that comes from having a relationship with Jesus and no longer being in darkness. Sometimes, we can do all the right things but remain lost. We could attend church every Sunday, participate in Bible Study, sing with the choir, volunteer, etc., but still not know who Christ is. The testimonies shared by Karl and Crew this week shed some light on how each member had a false sense of salvation at a point in their walk with Christ. Today, we asked our listeners to share their coming-to-Christ stories. Was there a time when you were in church but didn’t know Christ? You can hear the highlights of today’s program on the Karl and Crew Showcast.

  • Producing Fruit with Christ
    2025/05/30

Today, on Karl and Crew, we wrapped up our weekly theme of “Abide in God” by discussing how, when we abide in Him, we experience fruitfulness, whether it be changes in our perspectives or actions. Romans 6:20 tells us that when we submit to the Lord, we produce fruit that leads to everlasting life. What was the most significant “change of fruit” you noticed when you experienced new life in Christ? We had a few listeners call in and share the fruitfulness they’ve experienced after coming to Christ. Chip Ingram also joined us in sharing the beauty of embracing the God-given gift of joy. Chip has been a pastor, author, and teacher for over 30 years. He is also the CEO and Teaching Pastor of Living on the Edge, an international teaching and discipleship ministry. Chip has authored several books, including “I Choose Joy: Change Your Perspective, Change Your Life.” You can hear the highlights of today’s program on the Karl and Crew Showcast.

  • 3 Ways Satan Will Try to Bait You Away From God
    2025/05/29

Today, on Karl and Crew, we continued our weekly theme of “Abide in God” by discussing the three baits that Satan uses to get us out of proximity with God. We looked at John 15, where Jesus says that we must remain connected to Him to produce fruit and that without Him, we produce nothing. Satan doesn’t want us to be connected and will try to lead us away from Jesus. We turned to Matthew 4, where we analyzed the three ways Satan tried to separate Jesus from God and how he tries to do the same to us. Oftentimes, Satan will use the Hallucination of Salvation to deter us from abiding in God. Phillip Miller joined the conversation and provided insight into how being connected and having our identity rooted in Christ is imperative. Philip is the Senior Pastor of the Moody Church. He can also be heard on the weekly “Moody Church Hour” nationwide radio broadcast on 90.1-WMBI-FM on Sundays at 10 am. Philip also has over 15 years of ministry experience. We also had Susie Larson join us to talk in depth about the grief of life when you are far from Christ. Susie is a best-selling author and national speaker. She also hosts the popular radio show, Susie Larson Live, and shares Daily Blessings on social media, which reaches over half a million people. She has authored several books, including “Strong in Battle.” You can hear the highlights of today’s program on Karl and Crew Showcast.

  • Being in Proximity to God
    2025/05/28

Today, on Karl and Crew, we continued our weekly theme of Abiding in God by discussing how having proximity to Jesus allows us to bear much fruit, and we discussed what it looks like to abide in Him with Greg Dempster. Greg is the Founder and Director of ChristLife Ministries, an organization that transforms Christian leaders from various denominational backgrounds. We turned to John 15 to analyze Jesus’s metaphor of the grapevine. His metaphor demonstrates the structure of a spiritual circuit breaker, where our source is God, and we bear fruit when we are connected to Him and Jesus. The Father is the Gardener, Jesus is the grapevine, and we are the branches. We also had Lori Ridder come in and share her testimony. Lori is the Executive Assistant to Karl at 180 Chicago, a multi-location church where Karl is the Senior Pastor. She has also led two successful webinars on the connection between faith and fitness, including her own journey, weight loss, spiritual strength, and lifelong healthy choices. You can hear the highlights of today’s program on Karl and Crew Showcast.
