• Why Stefon Diggs OTA attendance is BOTH damage control and good for the Patriots
    2025/06/03

The NFL offseason training is officially upon us. This week teams around the league are meeting for voluntary OTAs. And for one star wide receiver, attendance is both a good sign for his team, but also a bit of damage control. This offseason the New England Patriots signed veteran wide receiver Stefon Diggs to a 3-year deal. Diggs, who is coming off a torn ACL, recently went viral on social media. On Monday, Diggs was in attendance as the Patriots convened for voluntary training periods. Former NFL QB, Chase Daniel, and The Athletic's National NFL Writer, Mike Jones, discuss Diggs' participation.

Additionally, the Detroit Lions will be forced to replace another veteran offensive lineman. Frank Ragnow informed the team that he will retire from football at the age of 29-years old. Ragnow was a four-time Pro-Bowl selection.

Elsewhere around the league, Kirk Cousins did not show up to the Atlanta Falcons voluntary OTAs. Jones reported on the show that the Falcons have explored trade options for Cousins, but nothing has materialized into a deal yet. He also reported the Falcons would be content keeping Cousins as the backup, valuing his experience as a starter.

The Buffalo Bills are hoping their star running back, James Cook, will show up for the mandatory sessions. Thus far this offseason, Cook has declined to attend the voluntary practices. The Athletic's Bills beat writer Joe Buscaglia joined the show to discuss Cook, the Bills offseason defensive focus, and Josh Allen's wedding.

Plus, the new cover of EA Sports Madden was released featuring Philadelphia Eagles star Saquon Barkley. The guys react to Saquon's cover photo.
