Save My Thyroid: Healing Tips for Hyperthyroidism and Hashimoto's

著者: Dr. Eric Osansky DC IFMCP
  • サマリー

  • If you have hyperthyroidism (Graves' disease, toxic multinodular goiter, etc.) or Hashimoto's thyroiditis and are looking to do everything to save your thyroid gland, then the Save My Thyroid podcast is for you! Dr. Eric Osansky DC, IFMCP is the host, as he personally was diagnosed with Graves' disease in 2008 and was able to get into remission taking a natural approach. He created this podcast to help others with hyperthyroidism and Hashimoto's save their thyroid and regain their health. If you have hyperthyroidism then pretty much all of the episodes will benefit you, and if you have Hashimoto's you'll benefit from most of the guest expert episodes, as well as some of the "solo" episodes. The reason there is more of a focus on hyperthyroidism is because all of the other thyroid-related podcasts focus mostly on hypothyroidism/Hashimoto's, and since Dr. Eric personally dealt with Graves' disease he wanted this podcast to focus more on hyperthyroidism, although it will still offer plenty of value to those with hypothyroidism/Hashimoto's. Dr. Eric Osansky lives in Matthews NC with his wife, 2 daughters, 3 cats, 2 dogs, and 3 guinea pigs! He has been a practitioner for 20+ years, and has focused on helping people with thyroid and autoimmune thyroid conditions since 2009.

  • How To Lower Thyroid Antibodies Part 4: The Role of Environmental Toxicants
    2024/12/24

Environmental toxins (natural) and toxicants (synthetic) are a huge problem in modern living. Every day, we’re bombarded by these external factors, and in most cases, our immune systems can mitigate the toxic burden.

For various reasons, many of us lose our chemical tolerance over time, and our bodies can no longer handle the toxin exposure. That’s when environmental toxins may trigger thyroid autoimmunity and lead to the formation of thyroid antibodies.

Today, in part four of my series on lowering and normalizing thyroid antibodies, I’m discussing the impact of environmental toxins and toxicants on thyroid antibodies and what you can do to reduce your toxic burden. I talk about the differences between toxins and toxicants, mechanisms of thyroid autoimmunity, practical detoxification strategies, the role of supplementation, the need for thyroid antibody testing, and more. Enjoy the episode!

  • A Functional Medicine Approach To Depression with Dr. Achina Stein and Sylvia Covelli
    2024/12/20

You’ve tried it all—traditional psychiatry, medications, even alternative spiritual practices, yet the symptoms seem to intensify.

What if your doctor told you to simply cope with your condition for the rest of your life? Would you accept that as your reality?

What if the truth about depression is more than a mental health issue? You might be surprised to learn that your eating habits, lifestyle, environment, or childhood experiences could have led to your condition. And without addressing these, you’re trapped in an endless loop.

In this conversation, Dr. Achina Stein and Sylvia Covelli discuss how a functional medicine approach can help overcome depression. Sylvia will share her personal journey and what helped her overcome depression, and return guest Dr. Achina Stein will also provide valuable insight. Enjoy the episode!

  • Low White Blood Cells and Thyroid Health
    2024/12/19

Low white blood cell count, also known as leukopenia, is a common finding in many people, including those with thyroid and autoimmune thyroid conditions. There are five types of white blood cells - neutrophils, lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophils, and basophils - and these markers are part of a complete blood count (CBC) with differential, which I recommend for all my patients.

While a low white blood cell count alone does not necessarily raise a red flag, it’s essential to determine the underlying cause, as many of these factors can trigger thyroid conditions. Today, I’m discussing the connection between low white blood cells and thyroid health, how you can support your immune health, and when to be concerned about low white blood cell counts.

In this episode, you’ll learn about:
    - How white blood cell counts are assessed and their significance
    - Risks associated with low white blood cell counts
    - Common causes of low white blood cells
    - Neutropenia and its relationship with infections
    - When to be concerned about low white blood cell counts
    - The relationship between low white blood cells and thyroid health
    - The importance of identifying and addressing underlying causes
    - Supplements and herbs for immune support

As always, I hope you find this episode valuable, and I look forward to catching you in the next episode!
