  • Ep. 137: Minerals Decoded (Part 7): The Weird Reasons Your Body May Be Literally Calcifying Itself — and How to Reverse It
    2025/07/17

Welcome back, everyone! This week is part seven of the Minerals Decoded miniseries, and we’re going to take a deeper look into a really fascinating and often misunderstood pattern that can show up on an HTMA test. This is known as the calcium shell pattern.

What exactly is a calcium shell? If you’ve ever felt stiff, disconnected, or even emotionally numb, this pattern might resonate with you. A calcium shell shows up on the HTMA when calcium levels are abnormally high, leading to calcification in soft tissues rather than the bones and teeth. This pattern can lead to physical symptoms such as joint and muscle pain, fatigue, and even serious issues like osteoporosis and kidney stones. Emotionally, it can cause a person to feel disconnected or emotionally numb, making it hard to process stress and emotions effectively.

In this episode, we'll explore the various causes of a calcium shell, including excessive copper, iodine deficiency, stress, and emotional trauma. I’ll share case studies, explain what HTMA markers to look out for, and most importantly, how to break it up and restore balance to your calcium levels. I’ll also share some supplements and minerals that can help, the role of emotional support in restoring calcium levels, and ways to manage the detox symptoms that might arise as you begin the healing process.

If you’re struggling with similar symptoms, I encourage you to stop guessing and get tested. Check the show notes for links to my HTMA testing package and other helpful resources like the Mineral Mocktail Guide. Thank you for listening, and stay tuned for the final part of this series next week!

  • Ep. 136: Minerals Decoded (Part 6): This One Mineral Imbalance Could Be Making Your PMS Worse
    2025/07/10

In this episode of our Minerals Decoded series, we're diving into part 6 to discuss the incredibly complex and often misunderstood topic of copper dysregulation. If you've ever struggled with your energy levels, had skin issues, brain and neurological problems, or menstrual challenges like PMS and PMDD, this episode might give you some clues into why these issues could be popping up for you.

Copper is an essential mineral that plays a critical role in our bodies, aiding in energy production, building collagen, and regulating the immune system. But here's the catch — sometimes copper doesn't behave the way it should. Instead of being utilized properly, it can get stuck and builds up in areas like the liver and brain, leading to what we call copper dysregulation or toxicity. From hormonal birth control and dietary choices to environmental exposures like drinking water from copper pipes or swimming in chlorinated pools, a lot of things can mess with your copper levels.

In this episode, I break down how we can safely bring copper back into harmony with the rest of our mineral levels and explore the symptoms of copper imbalance including chronic fatigue, anxiety, depression, and even skin issues like acne and rashes. We’ll also cover the tight relationship between copper and estrogen, which could potentially explain why hormonal birth control and even copper IUDs could play a role in some women’s unexplained symptoms.

If you suspect you have a copper imbalance, check out our website to get your Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) and to download my free Morning Mineral Mocktail Guide. This guide is perfect for nourishing your adrenals and getting started on balancing your minerals which makes such a big difference when it comes to copper balance. If you found this episode helpful, please share it with friends and rate us so we can reach more people on their health journeys. See you next time!

  • Ep. 135: Minerals Decoded (Part 5): Fatigued, Foggy, and Burnt Out? Your Adrenals Might Be Trying to Tell You Something
    2025/07/03

This week, in Part 5 of the Minerals Decoded series, we’re focusing on another mineral ratio that’s essential for those who feel drained, struggle with persistent fatigue, digestive issues, or mysterious allergies, and have not found answers from standard medical tests. If this sounds like you, this might be your sign to get an HTMA test and look into your sodium-to-magnesium ratio, aka the adrenal ratio. This ratio acts like a speedometer for your adrenal glands and provides key insights into your stress response and metabolic health.

I start with a story about a client who was severely fatigued and experiencing multiple health issues. Through an HTMA test, we discovered that her sodium-to-magnesium ratio was extremely low, indicating sluggish adrenal activity. With targeted interventions such as adding sea salt to her diet and managing stress, she began to feel revitalized, improving her energy levels, digestion, and overall health.

I also give a detailed breakdown of how both high and low sodium-to-magnesium ratios affect your body, and the difference between fast and slow oxidizers of these minerals. Understanding these imbalances can be empowering and guide you on how to better manage your health.

This episode will give you some practical tips for balancing your sodium-to-magnesium ratio, including using sea salt to support sodium levels, incorporating adrenal glandulars, and finding ways to manage stress effectively. If your sodium-to-magnesium ratio is imbalanced, these tips could be game-changing for your energy levels and overall well-being.
