A. Paul’s Purpose in Writing — 15:14-21

a. Paul had confidence in their own experience in Christ (v14)

b. His boldness was to remind them of things they learned before (v15)

c. Paul wrote to them as an apostle so they would be sanctified (v16)

d. Paul was proud of the work Christ did through him to the Gentiles (v17)

e. His goal was the obedience of the Gentiles by word and deed (v18)

f. The Holy Spirit used miracles to authenticate Paul’s message (v19a)

g. Paul already had a large territory of ministry (v19b)

h. Paul would preach the gospel in areas that were never reached (v20)

i. Those who never were told of Christ would hear and understand (v21)

B. Paul’s Plans for the Future — 15:22-33

1. His Desire to Come to Rome — 15:22-29

1. His work prevented him from visiting Rome (v22)

2. His work was finished in those areas now (v23)

3. He wants to visit them on his way to Spain (v24)

b. His Short Term Plans — 15:25-29

1. I am going to Jerusalem bringing aid to the saints (v25)

2. Gentiles contributed to the believers in Jerusalem (v26)

3. Gentiles are to serve Jews materially also (v27)

4. Visit Rome on the way to Spain (v28)

5. I will come in the fullness of the blessing of Christ (v29)

2. Paul’s Request for Prayer — 15:30-33

a. Strive together with me in your prayers to God on my behalf (v30

b. That I may be delivered from the unbelievers in Judea (v31a)

c. The service for Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints (v31b)

d. God's will I may come to you with joy and be refreshed (v32)

e. Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen. (v33)
