Right Up My Podcast

著者: Gwen Watson and Kate White
  • サマリー

  • Right Up My Podcast is the podcast for those looking to explore different methods of self-care, self-love and ways to make you feel good.

Hosted by voice artist and presenter Gwen Watson and journalist and producer Kate White, Right Up My Podcast came from a mutual drive to find new ways to improve our own mental health.

Each episode we chat to a different expert about their feel-good forte, and then try it out for ourselves to see if it works... or if it doesn't.

It's frank, funny and honest, with the odd bit of over-sharing. So join us on Right Up My Podcast, because you deserve to feel good too!

Released fortnightly. Contains bad language and inappropriate laughter.
Music – Andrew Grimes. Artwork – Erica Frances George.

  • RUMP Rewind – Ep.43 - Meditation & The Brain: How meditation can reshape our brains | Sara Lazar
    2025/04/14

It's the RUMP Rewind! Where we delve into the back catalogue and whip out an old fave that we think needs a re-airing today. Kate's chosen to re-explore the vast benefits of meditation on our brain and lives.

Sara Lazar joined us on Ep.43 to talk about what's actually happening in our brains when we meditate. We're all told it's good for us, but we want to find out why.

Sara is an Assistant Professor in Psychology at Harvard Medical School and an Associate Researcher in Psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital. Her research focuses on the neuroscience underlying yoga and meditation.

Her work has been covered by the likes of The New York Times and in TED talks, and you can find out more about her here:

    • How Meditation Can Reshape Our Brains: Sara Lazar at TEDxCambridge
    • The Neuroscience of Yoga and Meditation - Dr Sara Lazar, PhD

Sara sets us one our loveliest challenges so far: to meditate while sending love out to others. Gwen & Kate try it out and you can join in too.

We want to know if you've tried the Let Them theory and if it's worked.

  • RUMP Rewind – Ep.24 - Microdosing: Can it help with mental health and chronic pain? | Pamela Kryskow
    2025/03/31

It’s time for the RUMP Rewind! We dig into the archives each week and dust off a golden oldie for your listening pleasure. This time, Gwen’s picked a mind-expanding episode all about microdosing psychedelics – tune in and take a trip down memory lane!

We talk to Dr Pamela Kryskow about the research she and her team are doing into the use of psychedelic drugs in the treatment of PTSD, anxiety, depression, addiction and much more.

Pamela is a Canadian doctor who specialises in psychedelic medicine, mental health and chronic pain. She is a clinical instructor at the University of British Columbia and a founding board member of the Canadian Psychedelic Association. In addition, she is involved in the largest ongoing microdosing study to date, Microdose.me

We learn about clinical trials, the successes and challenges, the rise in popularity of microdosing and how in actual fact, we've been doing this since we started walking this earth.
