  • Episode 3: Becoming Self Soverign with Gavin Abeyratne l Recovery Unleashed Podcast l
    2025/07/11

In this episode of Recovery Unleashed, I sit down with Gavin Abeyratne—a developmental coach, energy worker, and storyteller who is dedicated to helping individuals unlock their full potential. He is the creator of Integral Alchemy, a framework that enhances leadership and well-being through cognitive and somatic energy psychology. His mission? To grow tall poppies. Gavin is focused on evolving Australia’s national identity, fostering deep personal development, and integrating indigenous wisdom into the conversation of healing and leadership.

For the past nine months, Gavin has been my coach, my guide, my mirror—if you want to call it therapy, sure, but what he does is so much more than that. And the wildest part? In this episode, we talk about collaborating in the future, and as I sit here writing these show notes, it’s already happening. I’ve been trained in his process, my entire team is being trained in his process, and together, we’re bringing this alchemy to the world. Meanwhile, I’m helping him get his health on track—a full-circle collaboration in every way possible.

Gav is a high-level human, and I am extremely grateful for his existence in my life. This conversation goes deep, touching on everything from:

🔥 Healing daddy issues and how they impact our sense of self.

🔥 Stopping self-sabotage by addressing unmet sexual needs and desires.

🔥 Understanding the energetic patterns that keep people stuck in cycles of struggle.

🔥 Bridging the gap between personal healing and high performance.

This episode is raw, insightful, and packed with wisdom for anyone ready to break through their own limitations. If you’re serious about growth, leadership, and embodying your highest self, you don’t want to miss this one.

  • I hid it well with Sophia Houridis
    2025/07/06

In this episode of Recovery Unleashed, I sit down with Sophia Houridis—a mind coach and remedial therapist based in Adelaide, South Australia. Sophia helps individuals bridge the gap between their thoughts and the realities they create, guiding them to uncover what’s really driving their behaviors and patterns.

Sophia is one of my favourite humans on this planet. The way she can articulate her streams of consciousness and break down what’s happening for the person sitting in front of her is absolutely breathtaking. She has a way of pulling together the unseen and bringing clarity to the deepest, most unspoken truths.

Sophia was the second therapist I ever worked with, and the time we spent together was some of the deepest work I had done. It was the first time in 10 years that I had truly stayed clean for a significant amount of time, yet I also relapsed while seeing her—and hid it really well. In this episode, we have a raw and honest conversation about what it was like to carry that secrecy, and what it means to fully step into truth and accountability.

But the biggest moment of this episode? The day before this recording, I told my parents about my addiction for the first time. After 10 years of hiding it from them, another 8 years of being clean and pretending it never happened, I finally said the words out loud. This conversation is real and raw, diving into what that moment was like, how it felt to release that truth, and what it means to own your story, no matter how messy it is.

We also unpack the layers of addiction, how it isn’t always about drugs, and how it can manifest as overworking, overtraining, or constantly chasing something outside of ourselves. When you're inside of it, you often can’t even see it. And yet, the things we’re running from are usually so simple—a fear of lack, the belief that “I don’t want to be like that person,” rather than some big terrifying monster.

This episode is about truth, healing, and seeing addiction for what it really is—a symptom of something deeper, something we can absolutely heal when we have the right awareness, tools, and people around us.
