Many believers wonder: If I still struggle with same-sex temptation, am I really free? The truth is, we can be delivered from our demons, yet still face temptation. Our sin nature—rooted in Adam’s fall—means we will always experience desires that stem from our flesh. But through Jesus, the second Adam, we have redemption and the power to overcome sin.
Even Jesus was tempted, yet He did not sin (Hebrews 4:15). Temptation is inevitable, but through the Holy Spirit, we have the strength to resist and walk in self-control (1 Corinthians 10:13). Freedom in Christ doesn’t mean the absence of temptation—it means the ability to choose holiness despite it.
To say same-sex temptations aren’t "normal" can leave people discouraged in their journey with Christ. The truth is, every believer faces struggles. Our role as the body of Christ is to welcome, disciple, and walk with people through the process of sanctification.
