このコンテンツについて
Free speech has always fascinated me and now with a string of Quran burnings in Sweden we are faced with the same debate: Is this free speech or hate speech and where do we draw the line. Sweden is facing the wrath of the arab world and could buckle and ban the burning of religious books.
But free speech isn’t t just important to a handful of rightwing nazi jerks but its a principle that we must all protect and fight for.
Has anyone heard of the Iranian Danish artist Firoozeh Bazrafkan? She ripped up and shredded the Quran on youtube two weeks ago. She did that in protest to what is happening to Iranian and Kurdish women. Are we going to silence her? Are her actions also hate speech and islamphobic?
