    Hey, Tangled Minds!

In light of everything going on in the world, we figured everyone could use a little fun and joy. Today, Harry and I discuss failure. Past, present, and future. Personal, professional, familial. Ranging from funny to catastrophic. We try to end on a fun note, which is crazy because— *ring ring* what? Uh huh…. Uh huh… Oh, you don’t say. Well, I didn’t notice. Oh! Sorry! *hangs up phone* I’ve just been told this is all depressing. Whoops!

Anyway, if you have any thoughts on today’s episode, email us at ourtangledminds@gmail.com or text us! And hey! We meant it when I said you’re not alone right now.

  • Episode 3: Conversations about Conversations

Hey, Tangled Minds! Long time no… talk? listen? I’m not sure what, but it sure has been a long time. We are so happy to be back! It’s been a little crazy (crazier than usual) in these tangled minds and we just wanted to say thank you to those who have kept listening and kept telling us to keep recording. It means the world that you all care and check-in.

Today, we talk about talking, converse about conversing, and communicate about communicating. It all started with Harry sending Jack an article on ways to have a successful conversation. (You can read the article here:
https://www.experimental-history.com/p/good-conversations-have-lots-of-doorknobs) This got us thinking about our strengths, weaknesses, and abilities while talking, as well as successful conversations in general. So kick back, relax, and listen to us get reeeeaaally meta.

Also, this was recorded on Inauguration Day. Words are insufficient in the best of times; in the worst of them, words combust. There’s so much happening right now, and even since we recorded it a week ago. Just know that you all aren’t alone.

  • Episode 1: But What If We're Wrong?
    2024/06/04

Hello, Tangled Minds, and welcome to Season Two! Harry and I felt like we needed to revamp and get back to a little structure in the podcast and we decided to do that by addressing two controversial topics and challenging our own preconceptions and biases. Doesn’t that sound like a safe relaunch? We hope so! Today, Harry and I talked about the book What If We’re Wrong by Chuck Klosterman and each a topic to discuss how we’d react if we proved we were wrong about our held beliefs. More importantly, we talk about how we benefited from considering other perspectives and “being wrong.”

Cue the slap base and get together a groovy horn section because we are doing a Seinfeld episode. Not about the show, no no. An episode with inspired by the very heart and soul: nothingness. In truth, Harry’s been busy and we haven’t caught up in a while, so we used this time to talk about whatever and catch up with each other. Hope you enjoy!

Do you know what’s humbling? Having your brother run the Boston Marathon. Do you know what’s even more humbling? Being part of a podcast with your brother and two of his friends who also ran the Boston Marathon last Monday. Today’s episode is a special one, though, and I hope you’ll listen in to hear Harry and his friends talk about their experience running one of the most prestigious marathons in the world, their race strategy versus their race reality, and their future running plans. Please join me in congratulating Harry and his friends Riley and Ethan on completing this accomplishment! Im so proud of all of them! (The most humbling, of course, if when people look you up and down and then have the gall to ask if you also ran… no).

Good morning, Tangled Minds! Sorry we missed last week. This week Harry and I share news articles that give us hope. (No matter what Harry says, those were the ONLY stipulations on his prompt.) I hope that these hopes imbue you with hope. It springs eternal from some place—might as well try to make it this podcast. Harry has linked them below. Have a wonderful week! And remember, if you woke up today, you may as well make a day of it.

Hello, Tangled Minds! Sorry this episode originally came out without a description—Jack forgot he had a job for a second. (Very brave of those of you who ventured in unprepared.) Today, we talk about journaling—why Harry does it and why Jack’s doesn't. Should be a fun one!

This episode marks a year since our beginning! So thanks for sticking with us. Remember to email us at OurtangledMinds@gmail.com and donate to Harry’s Marathon fund here: https://www.givengain.com/project/harry-weidner-raising-funds-for-boston-medical-center
