A 16-year-old female suspect was arrested following a high-speed pursuit and crash in west Omaha on Friday, April 25. The incident began at approximately 9:57 p.m. when a Nebraska State Patrol trooper observed a Mazda CX9 traveling over 100 mph without headlights on Q Street near 156th Street, in a 45 mph zone. When the trooper attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the driver fled, turning into a neighborhood before returning to Q Street where the pursuit ended with a crash. The juvenile was taken into custody and faces multiple charges.
On Wednesday, April 23, troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol arrested an individual following a brief pursuit in the downtown area. At approximately 11:45 p.m., a trooper observed a Dodge Dakota failing to maintain its lane on Highway 75 northbound. When the trooper attempted a traffic stop, the driver refused to yield and accelerated to approximately 95 mph. After continuing for about two miles, the vehicle slowed and the driver was apprehended. The driver is facing charges for a fourth DUI offense, along with additional violations related to the pursuit.
On Sunday, a motorcycle with no license plate was observed by a trooper near 30th Street and Interstate 480 in Omaha at approximately 8:35 p.m. Further details about this incident are not currently available.
The Nebraska State Patrol has noted a concerning trend of increased high-speed violations across Nebraska in 2025, as reported in April. Troopers continue to focus enforcement efforts on reducing dangerous driving behaviors throughout the Omaha metro area.
In partnership with the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, the Omaha Police Department's Robbery Unit arrested a 62-year-old suspect identified as Dale on Thursday, March 20. This arrest appears to be connected to an ongoing robbery investigation.
