  • Episode 6. The Sedition Files #2 - Sedition...In the Name of Jesus
    2022/10/09

Retired Lieutenant General Michael Flynn taking the 5th before the Congressional January 6 Select Committee, promoting the lie of a stolen election in 2020 and avoiding the truth of the violent insurrection on January 6? Donald Trump stealing top secret government files and hiding them at Mar-a-Lago? Roger Stone, Alex Jones, Congresswomen Lauren Boebert and Marjorie Taylor Greene interpreting scripture and invoking Jesus in a political crusade? Calls for civil war.
As a Christ-follower, I am at a loss to answer my daughter, who troubled by all the political factions affecting our country, political parties and even families... her dad, asked me "where is the Gospel in all of this?"

  • Episode 5. The Sedition Files - #1 The Peaceful Transition of Power - Where Do You Stand
    2022/09/26

On March 10, 2022, while testifying before the Congressional Select Committee on January 6, retired Lieutenant General Michael Flynn was asked if he thought the violence on January 6 (2021) was justified. He invoked his 5th Amendment right not to answer the question on the grounds that it might incriminate him. He was next asked if he supported the peaceful transition of power in the United States of America. Again, he invoked the 5th Amendment.

This shocking answer strikes at the heart of our 225 year history of living with the outcomes of free elections. Some candidates running for Congress on November 8, 2022, still embrace Michael Flynn and his willingness to sacrifice our most cherished principle that sustains our constitutional democracy, in order to seize office and power. This cannot stand.

The introduction to this episode is a video aired by NBC News: Concession Speeches From the Last 60 Years of Presidential Races (1960 to 2016). Donald Trump did not concede his loss in 2020.

"Ironically, it was his very struggle against the forces at the base of the dam that killed him. He didn't know that the only way out was counterintuitive. If he hadn't tried to keep his head above water, but instead dived down to where the current flowed downstream, he would have survived." Peter Senge, The Fifth Discipline

The same could be said for the Republican Party.
