Summary:
In this episode of "Narrated By The Veterans Club: The Cold Case Files," host Ed Bejarana delves into the mysterious 1995 disappearance of Rachel Summers, a 23-year-old medical student last seen in Indianapolis. Rachel's car was found abandoned at a rest area on Interstate 70, her belongings inside, but she was nowhere to be found. The episode explores the initial events of her disappearance, the subsequent discovery of her car, and the exhaustive investigation that followed, involving local police, state authorities, and the FBI. Various theories are discussed, including abduction, voluntary disappearance, and random foul play, alongside interviews with family, friends, and investigators. Despite advances in forensic science and increased security measures at rest areas, Rachel's case remains unsolved nearly three decades later. The episode closes by highlighting ongoing efforts by the Summers family and the community to find answers, including a scholarship fund in Rachel's honor and a call to the public for any information that might bring closure to her case.

Ed created Narrated By The Veterans Club after realizing how few audiobooks are human-narrated for visually impaired listeners. Driven by a mission to combat veteran and first responder suicide, he created this nonprofit to unite veterans around meaningful causes. Through community-minded projects, such as audiobooks for the visually impaired, Ed’s passion for service continues to make a lasting impact.
