Shawn and Emily Bateman have been serving as missionaries in Argentina since 2018. After pastoring in South Carolina, they answered the call to missions, attended language school, and transitioned to the mission field. Over the past five and a half years, they have planted churches, navigated challenges like the pandemic, and raised six children in a cross-cultural setting.

Their ministry includes pastoring Victory Baptist Church, acquiring a four-acre camp in Alvarez, and launching Faith Baptist Church in 2023. The Batemans share their experiences in parenting abroad, including the struggles of cultural differences, the benefits of bilingualism, and the fostering of a passion for Christ in their children.

They emphasize the importance of prayer, setting a godly example, and trusting in God’s plan despite challenges. They also recommend "The Duties of Parents" by J.C. Ryle as a must-read parenting resource.
