The Orlando Magic had one goal for this offseason: Improve their offense and 3-point shooting. To compete for a title, the Magic needed to find a solution to their long-standing shooting issues.

They seem to have done so with the acquisition of Desmond Bane and Tyus Jones along with Jase Richardson. It could truly transform and boost the team to get consistent shooting. But nobody really knows if this will work until the team gets on the floor.

Better shooting should also unlock a new level to Paolo Banchero's game, putting him on the path to meeting his vast potential.

Despite near-universal praise for their offseason and heightened expectations, the Orlando Magic still face a lot of key questions as they prepare for the season. The biggest is whether their offense has indeed taken a big enough step.

The answer to that question may come down to the coaching staff changes Jamahl Mosley made, adding Joe Prunty and God Shammgod to the staff this offseason. Both coaches are focused on offensive improvement and should provide a necessary boost.

The Orlando Magic again opted to go into the offseason without a traditional point guard. Will this strategy pay off?

The team certainly has plenty of skilled players who can fill in statistically for a point guard. But the Magic still need someone who can calm the team down and set them up in critical moments. Outside of Tyus Jones, that is not clearly on the roster and not in the starting lineup.

It is just Summer League. But the Summer Magic's problems dealing with the Toronto Raptors' ball pressure hints that this may be a bigger problem than anyone thinks. It could determine whether the Magic meet their lofty expectations.
