Maple Leafs GM Brad Treliving says he is allowing Mitch Marner "time to breathe" but will be in touch with his camp. Treliving said his club needs to change its DNA but didn't guarantee Toronto would offer a new contract for Marner. Frank Seravalli says there is potential for a sign and trade deal for Toronto that could send Mitch Marner to Las Vegas. It would be good for both parties if it happens. The Maple Leafs would receive a return for the free agent and VGK would need to clear cap space for Marner, if he comes to Las Vegas. The Golden Knights have been the only team prominently mentioned in the Marner Sweepstakes. Meanwhile, Darren Drager said Wednesday that there could be a discussion to return to Toronto for Marner if his camp is still open after July 1st. We also discuss the Conference Finals. Florida is back in the Stanley Cup Final. The Oilers could be their opponent if they win in Dallas tonight.

Just one year into his five-year deal, there are reports that former Golden Knight Jonathan Marchessault is looking to move on. He wasn't impressed with Nashville head coach Andrew Brunette or his coaching system. Marchessault was moved around a lot and played on various lines this past season, which led to him scoring only 21 goals this season. We also discuss William Karlsson's locker cleanout day quote of it being a "wasted season." Kelly McCrimmon, when asked about his comment, said it was simply raw emotion and not true at all. And, we discuss the Conference Finals.

Chris Gawlik put together a lineup with Mitch Marner in it - if he does indeed become a member of the Golden Knights. He assembled a cap compliant lineup that was void of some free agents: Nic Roy, Brandan Saad, and Nic Hague. We discuss if VGK should sign Marner at the expense of giving up depth pieces. NHL insider Pierre LeBrun of TSN said he believes Mitch Marner is very likely to test the free agent waters this July. He said Marner has expressed interest in Vegas and Florida. While teams that have interest in "The Magician" include Anaheim, L.A., Detroit and Chicago, according to LeBrun. Marner comes off a career-high 102 points this past season. AFP Analytics projects an eight year times $12.6 million contract wherever Marner winds up. He has been more than a point per game scorer throughout his career. We talk about what VGK would have to do to sign Marner. We also update the Conference Finals.

The 4-Nations Faceoff took a toll on VGK and other star NHL players. While it increased international hockey interest, it left key players injured or worn down in the latter part of the season.
