The body of Christ is symbolized as “one bread.” (1 Cor. 10:17). We receive this status from the compassionate Savior who declared, “I am the living bread which came down from heaven” (Jn. 6:51). His purpose in coming was to feed a desperately-hungry, spiritually-emaciated human race, starving for truth. Born-again believers inherit the same identity and purpose.
