As the Director of Instruction at Pinewild Country Club in Pinehurst, NC, and the Head Coach of the Sandhills Community College men's golf team, Ulrich has carved out a remarkable dual career in both teaching and coaching.

Ulrich's journey began as a standout collegiate golfer at NC State University, where he earned MVP honors in his senior year. After competing on various mini-tours and participating in PGA Tour events, including the Wyndham Championship, he transitioned into coaching and instruction. Since 1997, he has been a PGA Class A member, dedicating himself to developing players at all levels.

At Pinewild Country Club, Ulrich leads the Golf Academy, emphasizing a student-first approach that prioritizes progress over perfection. His philosophy focuses on connecting with each student personally, making the game accessible and enjoyable for newcomers while helping seasoned players refine their skills.

Ulrich's impact is perhaps most evident in his tenure at Sandhills Community College, where he has guided the men's golf team to five NJCAA Division III National Championships, including an impressive streak of four consecutive titles from 2021 to 2024. His coaching has produced multiple All-American players and established Sandhills as a powerhouse in collegiate golf.
