  • First Time Experiences: Travel Stories and Laughing Through Hardships with Lavinia Grosanu and Asher Wright
    2024/12/19

Have you ever taken a leap into the unknown? In this episode, alongside Asher and Lavinia, I’m sharing one of the most transformative firsts of my life: moving to Costa Rica in 2020. What started as a three-week vacation turned into a five-month adventure, my first solo experience away from family, and the beginning of a life I never imagined.

This wasn’t just a physical move—it was a mindset shift. At 38, I had spent my life grinding, raising kids, and doing what society told me was “normal.” But Costa Rica taught me the power of slowing down, embracing rest, and making bold decisions. Since then, I’ve built a home there, started a luxury Radical Rest Retreat, and discovered that when you lean into first-time experiences, the world opens up in ways you can’t predict.

In this episode, I talk about:

    • The courage it takes to embrace firsts, especially when they feel uncomfortable.
    • How rest isn’t just a pause—it’s a powerful tool for growth and clarity in life and business.
    • Building real estate projects internationally and navigating cultural differences.
    • Why stepping out of your comfort zone triggers more firsts and builds a muscle for bravery.
    • My first-ever Radical Rest Retreat in Costa Rica—what it offers and why I created it.

Through my story and my co-hosts’ journeys, we explore how first-time experiences—from climbing Kilimanjaro to scuba diving to taking a solo trip—can teach you to live fully, be present, and thrive. If you’ve ever felt stuck or hesitant to try something new, this episode is your sign to take that leap.

Stay until the end—I’m sharing all the details about my Radical Rest Retreat in Costa Rica, complete with private planes, a beachfront stay, and a curated experience of rest, renewal, and reflection.

I’m Shalece Daniels, and in this episode, I’m sharing how I transformed my hands-on property management business into a thriving, hands-off operation—while living in Costa Rica. My journey is all about embracing rest as a revenue driver, scaling smartly, and building a business that works for you, not because of you.

I dive into how I transitioned from being deeply involved in the daily grind to optimizing my systems and empowering my team with a Business Instruction Manual (BIM). This approach allowed me to step back, travel, and truly live while my business grew in both sales and profit margins.

You’ll hear the story of one of my coaching clients who boosted her income by $20,000 per month in just 12 weeks by embracing delegation and creating scalable systems. I explain why so many high earners are still “owning a job” instead of running a business and how you can change that.

Rest isn’t just a luxury—it’s a strategy. From the breathtaking Caribbean side of Costa Rica to the systems that made my business thrive, I’ll share how I found the freedom to focus on what matters most. 2024/11/28

For all the Black women who dream of conquering Mount Kilimanjaro—or even those who never thought about it—this episode is for you. Climbing Africa’s tallest peak isn’t just about the physical journey; it’s about preparing your mind, body, and spirit for an adventure that’s as challenging as it is rewarding. I created this insider’s guide specifically for Black women who want to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, sharing everything I wish I had known before taking on the mountain.

From unexpected struggles with altitude sickness to life-saving gear recommendations, I’ve covered it all. Did you know fitness doesn’t protect you from altitude sickness? My experience with swollen lips and altitude challenges showed me just how unpredictable it can be. That’s why taking altitude medicine like Diamox is non-negotiable. I also share tips on choosing the best route (go for the 8-day Lemosho route to acclimate better), and why timing your climb during the dry season can increase your chances of summiting by 15%.

Gear is critical for comfort and success. Think trekking poles to ease the strain on your body, wraparound sunglasses for glare above the clouds, La Sportiva mountaineering boots for all-day comfort, and a scarf—not just for style but as a vital utility item. I’ll tell you why you need solar battery packs, hydration strategies to prevent your water from freezing, and why camp shoes might be optional but helpful.

Climbing Kilimanjaro isn’t just about the logistics—it’s deeply emotional. From grappling with privilege and the culture shock of being served by porters in less-than-adequate gear to the intense release of emotions after summiting, this journey is transformative in ways you might not expect. I even include tips on managing those feelings, like journaling and reflecting, to help you process the experience.

Whether it’s preparing physically with activities like yoga and jump rope, packing the right snacks and supplies (Gold Bond powder, anyone?), or just gazing at the stunning night sky, this guide has everything you need to make it to the top—and back down again.

If you’re ready to summit Kilimanjaro, this video gives you the tools, insights, and encouragement to join the 65% of climbers who make it to the top. Trust me, if I can do it, so can you.

  • Scarcity to Abundance: Create Time Freedom & Thrive
    2024/11/14

In this episode, recorded straight from Costa Rica during a family celebration, I dive into a transformative conversation around time—one of the most precious yet misunderstood resources. We’ve been taught to think about time through a lens of scarcity: rushing from one deadline to the next, believing there’s never enough time in a day. But what if you flipped that script? Shifting your mindset from scarcity to abundance changes how you experience time and, in turn, how you thrive in business and life.

Throughout this episode, I explore how this simple mindset shift gives you control over your schedule, allowing you to delegate efficiently, integrate rest into your life, and truly experience freedom. I also walk you through my planning strategy using the 12-week system, sharing how tools like ChatGPT help me map out my workday with built-in breaks—because rest isn’t a luxury; it’s a necessity.

One powerful reframe I offer: Instead of saying, “I don’t have time,” say, “I’ve chosen to prioritize this.” This shift puts you back in the driver’s seat, empowering you to plan smarter and take ownership. I also discuss practical ways to handle your workload:

    - The Pomodoro Technique: Manage non-creative tasks with focused 20-minute intervals.

    - Batching Tasks: Group similar activities to stay efficient and in flow.

    - Morning Prioritization: Write down the top three tasks you must accomplish each day—“eat the frog first,” as I like to say.

Lastly, I emphasize how essential scheduled rest is to high performance. Having a list of enjoyable activities, whether it’s dancing, meditating, or chatting with ChatGPT, ensures that your rest is intentional and rewarding. Don’t just manage your time—create an abundant life where rest, work, and thriving coexist.

  • Stop Being Afraid to Scale! It doesn't Mean More Work.
    2024/11/07

Ready to scale your real estate business but overwhelmed at the thought of more work? You’re not alone. In this episode, I dive deep into the challenges of scaling—addressing the fear of delegation, breaking free from over-involvement, and why you need to build a Business Instruction Manual (BIM) to regain control of your time. Many entrepreneurs think growing means working harder, but the truth is, success lies in working smarter.

We explore how systems, delegation, and trust can unlock time freedom, so you can enjoy life without sacrificing business growth. Through my Business Coaching experience, I share my journey of stepping back, letting talented team members handle tasks, and rediscovering my passion by focusing on what I do best. If you’re struggling to delegate, it’s normal—fear and control are natural obstacles. But with practice, feedback loops, and the right support, you can build your trust muscle.

Discover the three-step framework from my BIM course:

    1. Identify the top 3 tasks you can delegate.
    2. Create detailed job descriptions for freelancers or employees.
    3. Build continuous feedback loops to optimize and refine your processes over time.

The magic of entrepreneurship lies in letting go—without fully abdicating your role. In this conversation, we discuss how jumping back in with fresh eyes can uncover inefficiencies and opportunities for optimization. The key is learning to break things intentionally to make them better, just like Reginald F. Lewis did when he acquired TLC Beatrice.

This episode is packed with actionable advice on how real estate CEOs and entrepreneurs can build systems that let them thrive on their own terms. Whether you want to spend more time with family, travel, or binge-watch your favorite shows, you’ll learn how to create a business that runs smoothly without your constant involvement. Watch, take notes, and let’s build a business that works for you, not the other way around.
