This is an amazing and touching story that shows you that not all insurance companies treat their clients like a number. Luke Dix has been a State Farm agent for 20 years and He recalls a client who contacted him after a fire started in their home. The wife was 8 months pregnant and she was lucky to escape with her life after jumping out of a glass window to save herself and her unborn child.  After discovering an issue with the policy Luke contacted State Farm to see what they could do to help this family who had just lost everything. Not only was State Farm able to honor the policy but Luke hand delivered a check to the hospital,  before the adjustor even went to the property. It was a charming fixer-upper,  owned by a widower, who wanted to move closer to family. Rick and his fiance battled against multiple buyers and were so excited when their offer was accepted. However a few days into escrow they received a blow that could have caused them to lose their dream home. The wife of the seller was not dead at all. She was very much alive and wondering why her home was being sold. But the biggest shock was that the husband had no idea. He had a death certificate, so finding out his wife was a complete shock.   • Episode 1: The House Of 100 Cats

    Dusti Martin is a realtor out of Scottsdale, Arizona.  In this episode, we talk about how destructive cat and pet urine can be to a home and how difficult and expensive it can be to fix. Dusti shares several personal experiences she has had over the years. The first is her childhood experience watching her mom deal with rental properties. Her mom eventually had to evict a tenant who had over 100 cats in, and around, the property. This completely destroyed the home.  In the second experience, Dusti was a newly licensed Realtor. She decided to purchase her first foreclosure property to flip. It did not go as planned. Upon entering the home she discovered that a cat had been allowed to roam freely for a year and in the Arizona heat the damage was indescribable. Even in her own home she and her husband had an issue with their dog peeing on the floor.  It took several years before they finally figured out why.
