    2025/07/24

The start of Copa America Femenina 2025 has been marred by a protest by the Uruguay players over investment, and complaints from Brazil regarding facilities and marketing. So, as the women's soccer world celebrates an incredible month of international soccer, is CONMEBOL's continental championship evolving or stagnating?

On this week's Full Time, Tamerra Griffin and Meg Linehan are joined by The Athletic's Melanie Anzidei to go deeper into the state of Copa America Femenina and how South American women's soccer is trying to keep up with the the rest of world. Will the hosts, Ecuador, see the same surge of interest as seen this summer at Women's Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco and at the Euros in Switzerland? How have Colombia emerged as a contender? What is Marta's legacy at the competition? How important is investment in the region with the next Women's World Cup coming to Brazil in 2027?

PLUS: Producer Theo catches up with Houston Dash and Venezuela midfielder Barbara Olivieri. The Texas-born player talk about what it means to represent the country of her parents, her love and passion for Venezuelan culture, and La Vinotinto's chances out in Ecuador this summer.
