Welcome to the Nordiques Knuckles Podcast: An appreciation & celebration of the warriors who've dropped the gloves for the Quebec Nordiques & their affiliates.
Today, I bring you a different kind of episode.
Former Halifax Citadels forward Ivan Matulik was a draft pick of the Edmonton Oilers in 1986. There was only one problem. Ivan was born, raised and still living in Czechoslovakia & they weren't keen on upper echelon athletes leaving, so Ivan had to defect. Easier said than done. In part one, you'll hear all the details of Ivan's quest for freedom & the opportunity to play in North America. Ivan also has some very funny stories along the way. I hope you people enjoy it!
