Welcome to episode 56 of Mind Bloom, your podcast on all things mental health through breast cancer.
I'm your host, Marina Gee, and this week we're talking about the Five Pillars (I like to call them the five seeds) to a flourishing life.
The first self-improvement book I ever read (very sceptically, I should say) was Melody Beattie’s Codependent No More. I cannot describe to you the amazement, the perplexity, the a-ha moments I experienced while reading Beattie’s book for the first time. To this day, I come back to it periodically, for a refresher. Maintenance is important, as we tend to forget how to best love ourselves.
In this self-discovery journey of mine, I learned that our emotional wellness relies on five pillars. These may vary slightly from person to person but, generally, we all agree that a flourishing life needs a balanced degree of: Food, Sleep, Movement, Emotional and Interpersonal realms. Listen on to find out more about these.
