More about today’s guest: Christopher Tanghe, a New Englander raised across upstate New York, Amherst, Boston, and Cape Cod, graduated from the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in 2000. His passion for wine began at the CIA under Stephen Kolpan and Michael Weiss but became his career focus later. In 2006, inspired by a Master Sommelier instructor, Chris pursued the Court of Master Sommeliers, earning the title on his second attempt in 2013. Chris has worked in restaurants nationwide and as a portfolio manager for a Seattle importer, overseeing relationships with over 300 producers. He also consults on beverage programs, judges for the Decanter World Wine Awards, and speaks at wine events. Since 2017, Chris has been with GuildSomm, first as Chief Instructor and now as Director of Education, teaching masterclasses across North America and contributing to podcasts, videos, and GuildSomm.com.
