Energy Hygiene: How to Protect Your Precious Energy From Everything That Wants to Drain It!

  • There’s no avoiding it: life can be exhausting! So many aspects of our daily life are constantly demanding our attention, from family and household chores, to work and colleagues, to even the doom-scrolling of social media and what we think we should be doing. Every single one of these things is taking up space and time in your life - of course that’s going to become draining after a while!

    But energy should be treated as a precious commodity (worth more than money!) and you should be trying to conserve it where possible, to reserve it for the truly important things in life that you genuinely want to spend it on. So in this week’s episode of the podcast, I’m sharing my energy-saving strategies by helping you practice energy hygiene in your life! I’ll take you through some of my own energy hygiene practices, such as mindfulness activities like daily yoga to give you a better perspective of your own desires, to being confident and comfortable in creating clear boundaries and learning to say ‘no’ - without the guilt. Much like our personal hygiene (which we’ve gotten very good at over the last few years), it’s important to protect your energy from areas in your life wanting to drain it, and try to sanitise yourself of those things that aren’t worth wasting your time on.

    We only have so much energy in our day, so save that energy for the areas in your life that revitalise your soul!
