Nope. His 200 million deal is licensing. He doesn't even need ads.

And then there's the real power play with ownership. Look at Alex Cooper's call her daddy. She walked away from Barstool Sports, got a 60 million deal from Spotify, $60 million deal, and kept the rights to her brand, and then licensed it again to Sirius XM for $125 million. That's boss level podcasting. Let's talk about Africa. Our biggest podcast is making Bank, not just from YouTube ads, but from brand partnerships, live events, merch, and a whole lot more. And that's a whole revenue stream most podcasters ignore. And Puma, Ledwaba Mack, Cisco are all selling out venues with their live podcasts and a Nigeria that I said what I said podcast launched an entire subscription club where fans pay to be part of an exclusive community. No sponsors, no middlemen, just direct audience cash. And here's the real play. If you're a podcaster, you need at least three income streams, minimum for examples.

These are masterclasses, ebooks, templates sell to your audience here. Tata rampage is a genius. You check out what he's doing with his books and stuff. Amazing. Third membership subscriptions. These are direct fan support and freedom if you can get it right from your audiences. Even though in South Africa and Africa we're quite snip at doing that. So you can't rely on that either. And finally, this is a big one. Licensing and exclusive deals. If you can build a powerful brand, companies will pay for exclusive rights to it. If you're only relying on YouTube ads or Spotify streams, you're leaving money on the table. And the biggest podcasters aren't just talkers, they're businessmen. These podcast hosts aren't TV executives and not Hollywood backed celebrities that people who've just built their own platforms no network execs controlling them, no scripts, no censorship, just raw, authentic conversations that people actually want to hear. Look at what happened with Trevor Noah. He left The Daily Show. And what's his next move? Not another TV gig. He's doing a podcast. Why? Because podcasting is where the audience is shifting to. And here's where it gets even more insane. Podcasting is now creating TV shows. Take serial. It was just an investigative audio podcast, and boom, it's now become an HBO series. Even Smart List with Jason Bateman and his crew. They built a podcast so big that Amazon paid them $80 million just to stream it as a video show on Prime. Podcasts aren't replacing TV, they are TV now. And this isn't just happening in the US. In Africa, we're seeing the exact same shift. Take Maxis podcasts and chill on Waba. They're not just podcasters. They're literally South Africa's most watched talk shows. Forget mainstream television podcasts are building empires on YouTube. I said what I said in Nigeria. These ladies started as a niche podcast. Now they're one of the most influential lifestyle brands in West Africa. And people aren't just listening, they're tuning in like it's a full on reality show podcast taking over because audiences want real conversations, not polished scripts. They want deep dives, not five minute TV interviews. And best of all, they want choice podcasts. Let them listen whenever, whatever, and however they want. So what's coming down the pike? In my opinion, Video podcasting is about to dominate. YouTube is already the biggest podcasting platform in the world. I read the other day that they had 1 billion podcast stream last month. Not Spotify, not Apple Podcasts, YouTube, and that's why YouTube just launched its own podcast homepage and why people like Logan Paul, DJ fresh, Spew or Trap and Pass. They are thriving there. In a few years, every major podcast will have a visual version. And what's even crazier? Networks like Netflix and Amazon are starting to sign podcasters the way they used to sign comedians and actors. So imagine this the first African podcast talk show on Netflix, and it's coming. So it's just a matter of time. So if you're a podcaster or even thinking about starting one, here's my advice think bigger. You're not just competing with the other podcasters anymore. You're competing with TV, with Hollywood, with entertainment giants. And guess what? You can win because the future isn't in scripted, overproduced shows.
