Two Virginia Beach police officers, Christopher Reese and Cameron Girvin, were shot and killed during a traffic stop. The suspect, 42-year-old John McCoy III, allegedly pulled over for expired license plates, failed to yield, and led officers to a dead end on Sylvan Court. A tussle ensued, during which McCoy pulled a pistol from his pocket and shot both officers. After executing the officers, McCoy calmly walked away and was later found dead with a self-inflicted gunshot wound in a shed behind an apartment complex.
