He begins by addressing the abortion issue pointing out that one candidate supports the states being able to determine what limitations they want on abortions while the Democratic candidate wants women to have no limitations on abortion. He says that we all seem to be screaming, “why does it hurt so much?” Dr. Hall focuses on 2 Corinthians 1:3- 4, which tells us that God comforts us in all of our troubles so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we receive from God. We are warned not to fall into the trap of thinking that our heartbreak doesn’t register on God’s radar because so many others have gone through worse. God never sees our pain as minimal when compared to others. Dr. Hall warns that God gives purpose to our hard places and does not always remove our suffering. It is pointed out that the root of suffering and pain is drawing closer and nearer to Jesus.
