  • Advent Day 25 Christmas Day - Emmanuel—God With Us
    2024/12/25
Christmas Day - Emmanuel—God With UsScripture: Matthew 1:23 (NIV)
"The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel' (which means 'God with us')."

Merry Christmas! We've arrived at the culmination of our Advent journey. Remember how in Star Wars, with Luke Skywalker they have as the title says “A New Hope” for the galaxy? In a far greater way, Jesus' birth is God stepping into our world and giving us a new hope.
Immanuel—God with us. Not distant, not detached, but here among us. This is the ultimate expression of love, the fulfillment of hope, peace, and joy we've been exploring.
    Prayer:
Father, thank You for sending Jesus to be with us. As we celebrate today, let us carry the truth of Emmanuel in our hearts. May we live in the fullness of Your hope, peace, joy, and love. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Thank you for journeying with me through these 25 days of Advent. As you celebrate Christmas, let's carry these reflections in our hearts. Love is not just a feeling; it's an action rooted in God's example.

  • Advent Day 24 - Love One Another
    2024/12/24
Advent Day 24 - Love One AnotherScripture: John 13:34 (NIV)
"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another."

Welcome back! As we near the end of our Advent journey, let's focus on Jesus' words in John 13:34: "Love one another." Just as He loves us.
Picture the camaraderie among the Avengers or the fellowship in The Lord of the Rings. Those bonds are strong because they're rooted in shared purpose and sacrifice. Jesus calls us to a love that's even deeper—a love modeled after His own.
That phrase "As I have loved you" raises the bar significantly. Jesus' love is unconditional, sacrificial, and forgiving. He washed His disciples' feet, served others selflessly, and ultimately laid down His life.
We're called to emulate that kind of love. It's not about grand gestures but daily choices—listening to a friend in need, forgiving someone who hurt us, or serving without expecting anything in return.
By loving others as Jesus loves us, we become reflections of Him in a world that desperately needs His love.
    Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for demonstrating perfect love. Help us to love others as You have loved us. Remove any barriers in our hearts that prevent us from loving fully. May our love be a testament to Your transforming power. In Your precious name, Amen.
I hope these episodes have encouraged you to deepen your understanding of God's love and to share it abundantly with others. Stay tuned for our final episode on Christmas Day, where we'll celebrate the arrival of Jesus, the embodiment of all we've discussed—Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love.
Until then, may God's unfailing love surround you and flow through you!

  • Advent Day 23 - The Greatest Commandment
    2024/12/23
Advent Day 23 - The Greatest CommandmentScripture: Matthew 22:37-39 (NIV)
Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'"

Hey friends! Today's scripture is a familiar one but always worth revisiting. In Matthew 22:37-39, Jesus sums up the entire law with two commandments: Love God and love your neighbor.
It's like the Prime Directive in Star Trek, the core principle that guides all actions. For us, love is that guiding principle. Loving God with all our heart, soul, and mind means putting Him first in everything. It's about an all-encompassing, passionate relationship with our Creator.
The second part is loving our neighbor as ourselves. That's sometimes easier said than done, right? Neighbors aren't just the people who live next door—they're coworkers, family members, even that person who cuts you off in traffic.
Loving others means showing kindness, patience, and compassion, even when it's inconvenient. It's about seeing people through God's eyes, made in His image and valuing them as He does.
    Prayer:
Dear God, help us to love You with all that we are. Teach us to prioritize our relationship with You above all else. Also, help us to love our neighbors as ourselves. Give us the grace to show genuine love to those around us, reflecting Your love in our actions. In Jesus' name, Amen.

  • Advent Day 22 - God's Love for Us
    2024/12/22
    Advent Day 22 - God's Love for UsScripture: 1 John 4:9 (NIV)
"This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him."

Hey everyone! Welcome to Week 4 of our Advent series, where we're focusing on Love. Today, let's dive into 1 John 4:9. It says, "This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him."
Think about the sacrifices made in stories like The Lord of the Rings, where characters lay down their lives for others. While those stories move us, God's act of sending Jesus is the ultimate expression of love—far surpassing any fictional narrative.
God didn't just say He loves us; He demonstrated it in the most profound way. He sent Jesus, His only Son, into the world so that we might have life through Him. This isn't just about eternal life after we die; it's about a fulfilling, abundant life right now, rooted in His love.
As we approach Christmas, let's reflect on this incredible gift. God's love is not distant or abstract; it's personal and transformative. It's the kind of love that reaches into our everyday lives, offering hope, peace, and joy.
    Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for showing us what true love is by sending Jesus into the world. Help us to grasp the depth of Your love for us. Let this love fill our hearts and overflow into our relationships with others. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Imagine being at a concert where everyone is singing along in unison—the energy is palpable! This verse invites us to express our joy openly and collectively.
Worship isn't just a personal experience; it's a communal celebration of who God is. Making a joyful noise can be singing, shouting, or any expression of praise.

  • Advent Day 20 - Restoring Joy
    2024/12/20
Advent Day 20 - Restoring JoyScripture: Psalm 51:12 (KJV)
"Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit."

Hey friends! Today's verse is a heartfelt plea from David: "Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation."
We've all had moments when we've drifted off course, like taking a wrong turn in an open-world game and ending up far from our quest. David wrote this Psalm after confronting his own failures.
He recognized that true joy comes from God's salvation, not from his own achievements or circumstances. When we're feeling distant or burdened by mistakes, we can ask God to restore that joy.
God's grace is sufficient. He's ready to renew us when we turn back to Him with sincere hearts.
    Prayer:
Father, we ask You to restore the joy of our salvation. Renew our spirits and draw us closer to You. Thank You for Your endless mercy and love. In Jesus' name, Amen.

"These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full."

Hello again! In John 15:11, Jesus says He wants His joy to remain in us so that our joy may be full.
Think about completing a marathon or finishing a massive project—the sense of accomplishment brings complete joy. Jesus desires that kind of fullness of joy for us.
He's sharing His teachings so we can remain connected to Him, the true vine. When we're aligned with Him, His joy flows into us, completing our own.
