We dive deep into Carlos’s youth soccer experience growing up in Greenville, SC. We talk about the original two major soccer clubs in Greenville back in the early 2000s, GFC and St. Giles, and what the rivalry was like between those two clubs back then. We talk about the transition of the two clubs merging and creating the club we all know now as CESA. Carlos has a unique perspective of CESA as he was a player for the club when it first formed, and is now a tenured CESA coach for the majority of his adult life. We talk in depth about injury and the mental health side of injury and how to work through that. We talk in depth about parents role in their child’s youth sports development/experience.
